I am not normally the type of person to write a review- actually I havenāt written one ever before. I have lived in Marin for my whole life and was excited to try SunLife. Once I got there I realized the prices where unusually high. However, I am the type of person to pay the money if the quality of the product is up to par with the prices. But, it wasnāt. My friend ordered a smoothie (which she said she had gotten once before) and it was completely liquid- the consistency of water. In fact, the toppings on top actually floated to the bottom. She asked for a new one but the staff responded with āitās just the spinach.ā I was utterly confused. I then received my smoothie after a 15 minute or so wait. But, mine was the exact opposite. Nothing was blended- in fact, there was still a full banana in my smoothie. As I was waiting for my smoothie to come out, I noticed a lot of other smoothies being made where the same liquid consistency and some other people where coming in too, to complain. Overall, I wouldnāt recommend going to this smoothie shop for three main reasons- unhelpful staff, poor quality food, and the unreasonably high prices. Other places that I have tried in the past that have more reasonable prices, helpful staff and produce very good food are Juice Girl in Mill Valley, Ohana Bowls, Pressed Juice (also in the Marin Country Mart), Nektar, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave been coming to Sun Life multiple times a week for several years. While the smoothies are great, they often vary in flavoring - so you donāt get the same smoothie every time. On top of this, thereās an insane amount of smoothie surplus (Iām talking 1.5 to 2.0 times the amount of smoothie it takes to fill one order). Itās been a consistent practice of mine to ask for the any leftovers that donāt fit in the cup. Makes sense, right? Who needs to create more waste in this world, especially from a super yummy $20 smoothie Iļø just purchased?
But no, the Sun Life management team thinks otherwise and has told their employees to throw away any extra smoothie that doesnāt fit into the cup. They donāt use the extras for existing and potential customer sampling or save the extras for employees on their breaks. Nope. They throw them away. Iļø mean why even have compostable spoons and straws if youāre just going to dump the smoothie leftovers down the drain after customers ask for any extras that were made? In fact, an even better and more cost effective route for management would be to have their employees actually measure out the ingredients so thereās consistency in flavor and amount of smoothie produced.
Blows my mind that lack of thought put into...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe photo of the blueberry smoothie pulled us in. Tracy Anderson approved!!! There was no price on the poster ājust an enticing photo of a cosmic mix of blueberry, coconut, pea flower, magical fairy dust and many other unfamiliar ingredients. We ordered without concernāthen noticed the $20 price tag. We were in a good mood and waived the sticker shock, feeling the promise of a perfect Tracy A body and that Larkspur Luxe vibe. As we waited, and we waited too long for a smoothie, we were the only customers, we noticed how grumpy and frumpy both the staff and the shop were. Dirty, cluttered, aged yellow film over photos of the food, boxes everywhere, unhappy staff. It took about 15 minutes for the $20 smoothie. It had the odd putting taste of stevia or a weird fake sweetener. I donāt recommend this place. Cute hat tho. Iād rather have spent $6 more...
