Grandy's — Restaurant in Las Cruces

The food was good... The customer service at the counter this day was excellent... The young lady working the counter was friendly, patient and informative... The manager on the other hand was not.. He was too busy talking to a customer to see that the table we chose and a few other tables were in need of a good wipe down... I wiped the table down with some napkins so we could enjoy a clean with our meal ... My Mother needed to use the restroom... They require you to ask an employee... She asked an employee to open the restroom for her... When my Mother got into the restroom it was filthy... The toilet was disgusting and there was trash overflowing from the waste basket or trash can... I did not see it for myself... But I'm sure the employee saw the mess... My mother had to clean the toilet off so she could use it... This is absurd... I should have asked the manager to accompany me to see the restroom for ourselves and take pictures... He did not apologize for the mess he almost blamed my mother for the mess... He told me that they keep their restaurant clean and the last customer must have made the mess... Because they just cleaned it .. we were there from 10:00 am until 11:00 am... Not one employee including himself went into the dining area to wipe down dirty tables... He was talking to a customer at one of the tables. entering the dinning area for quite some time... While we enjoyed our meal... He was less than ten feet away from us and should have seen me wipe down our table with napkins before we enjoyed our meals... Very unprofessional in how he responded to our complaints... I used to love this restaurant and I wanted to share that with my Mother... Her and my father took us there when we were young... The manager failed me and my mother's experience on this visit... I don't think I would like to return to the establishment... ...

Another place I keep driving by and wonder what the food is like. Wonder no more! I went to the drive thru and took my time looking at the menu. I pretty much made my own sampler: a piece of fried chicken, a piece of catfish, a meatloaf dinner, and a "Sinnamon Roll".

The cashier at the window was a rather nice guy. Fast and efficient considering what I ordered and he was working alone. I paid, he handed me my drink and 2 bags. On to the grub...

The catfish came with tartar sauce that I put to use immediately. Just an automatic action when consuming fish. The catfish was seasoned well and the tartar sauce was the perfect accompaniment. I should've ordered 2 pieces. The fried chicken thigh was tasty and crunchy. I would say it was easily on par with Church's. So if you like Church's, there ya go. Now, the meatloaf dinner, consisting of 3 pieces of meatloaf (I got a double portion), 2 sides - I chose Mac & cheese and mashed potatoes with white gravy, and a roll. The meatloaf was much better than expected. I would go so far as to say it was better than Denny's (and a single serving would have been enough but who doesn't like leftovers?). The mashed potatoes were okay but the gravy could've used some salt and pepper. It just tasted like white sauce with a couple specks of black pepper for decoration. The Mac & cheese was just macaroni and orange sauce with not much flavor to speak of (could've been called the "Mac & Trump" but that would be doing the macaroni a disservice). The roll was... he didn't give me one. That costs them a star.

Considering their menu, I would go there again. I plan to go there for breakfast because it looks like good eatin'. Also, I didn't give the "Sinnamon Roll" a rating because I was too full. I'm big but I'm no glutton. I'll update this review later to include it because it does look...

This was the most awful food I have ever gotten. The pot roast was burnt, I asked for mashed potatoes and gravy and got green beans, ordered Mac and Cheese for 10.00 it was awful, also got 6 burnt hush puppies. I called the manager on duty that night told him and he said " he would refund my money just to bring my receipt". I explained I lived 20 miles out of town and he assured me when I came back into town just to make sure I had my receipt. I came back into town 6 days later and took my receipt and the manager on duty that evening first off called me a liar told me I never called or it would have been written down in their book. I told him it was in my call log and he told me to show him. I showed him and he swore up and down that wasn't their number when I called it it rang their phone then he said well I wasn't really paying attention. Now I'm beyond upset, his employee starts making me another plate I told him I didn't want another plate that I would never eat there again. I told him just put the money back on the credit card like the other manager said he would do. He replied I can't my drawer will come up short. I thought oh my and you are a manager. He then told me it's been too long I can't do anything for you. I proceeded to call the manager the next day and he was busy, so I left my name and number and asked them to please have him call me when he got a minute and I haven't heard from them since. Very poor customer service, very poor management. Very dissatisfied with my all around service. Btw My order was over $30 for 1 meal an order of 3$ hush puppies and side of...
