I saw the great reviews and got really excited to go, but unfortunately the experience was not up to the hype for me or my friends. The only reason this place got a 2 instead of a 1 is that their pancakes are pretty bomb, but only one of us got pancakes.

Mainly i was disappointed because I got the Brie French Toast thinking it might have a little bit of syrup and some fruit and wanted to treat myself. What came out was akin to French Toast soup were the soup was syrup and a mismatch of soggy fruit and nuts. It didnt look appealing at all and everyone at my table agreed. I apologized and asked for them to take it back since that is not what I thought the order would be. I asked for regular French Toast instead. The waiter came back and asked me again if I did not want it because apparently I would be charged for it anyway even if I did not eat it.

I have never heard of this happening. Typically if the food is not to expectations you are able to get another order or they take half off or something, but instead I got charged almost 15 dollars for French Toast soup that I couldnt convince anyone to eat afterwards so I ended up throwing it away.

My french toast order that came out next was very flavorless and not well cooked and I could hear the waitstaff and cooks laughing at me from the back and I was trying really hard to be nice about the situation.

My advice: Just get...

TLDR: Inexperienced and rude management. Hours are erratic. Skip this place and instead enjoy nearby Mesilla for much better local options: Farmesilla, Salud, and Cafe De Mesilla are all wonderfully delicious, have better service, and are less ridiculous about their policies.

We ended up leaving right before ordering after some kid with dark hair just abruptly came to our table to tell me "you can't have a drink in here, you need to take it outside or put it on the counter." Then he just left. He didn't even give me a chance to inform him I have a dairy allergy and had my drink because I couldn't drink anything there. That sucks, because of the rude way he spoke to us (if he's the manager, then yikes 😬). As a result, The Shed has lost our business after years of living here, and we are also telling our family members not to waste money on this place. It's a shame, this place used to be such a gem. We are just so sorry to our server, as she seemed very nice. We would have tipped very...

This is a very popular restaurant. I went there for the first time for lunch with a friend. I had looked up the menu on line beforehand and chose a chicken quesadilla. It's a pricey menu and I had envisioned a quesadilla oozing with cheese and big chunks of chicken in it. Sadly, I was disappointed. The food portions were ample. But the quesadilla was the same one that I have often eaten at other restaurants in town, sometimes for considerably less. It was good, but not the special one that my imagination had built for me. My friend had an omelet that was stuffed with mushrooms and other veggies which looked delicious. The decor did live up to its name. It is plain, but quite clean. We ate on the patio which was pleasant but suffers from noise from a busy street outside. I think you will enjoy lunch here with its varied menu and breakfast served all day, especially if you don't let your imagination run wild...

Came here because the reviews looked promising, and it was! We tried the popular Brisket Green Chile Hollandaise Eggs Benedict and the Old Mesilla breakfast with beans. I was not craving brisket for breakfast, but I wanted to see what the most popular dish was all about. It was very good, filling, and i definitely recommend it! They were busy, and luckily, we took the last parking spot and dining table available! Prices were on the higher end, for example, $14.50 just for eggs and chorizo with beans, but that's my opinion. The service was quick and very welcoming, you can tell the people enjoy working there. The water didn't taste off like it can at some restaurants, and they offer paper straws if that matters to you. The interior was clean with an interesting style, but it was definitely something to look at. When you arrive, they'll have you scan the QR code with your phone to pull up the menu.

This place rocks! Our server Kathy was a sweetheart and gave us the exact amount of time and attention we needed! Food didn't take too long to come out either. Parking Lot was packed but for good reason. There are about 20-30 stalls available. Food was phenomenal. Highly recommend their enchiladas which can be stuffed with brisket. You get to choose red or green chili (team green chili all day!!!) I also opted for diced potatoes (basically like a square steak fry) and beans on the side. Very enjoyable. I believe they used a black bean tortilla too since it was the color purple. Gingerbread pancake was enormous so you only need 1. It was very enjoyable too; basically a gingerbread cookie in a soft cake form. I will definitely order those 2 items again. Fair price too! Ambiance was good. Outdoor seating was comfortable. Indoor is tight but comfortable. Can't wait to return back here!

Overall the The Shed is excellent. A definite cut above when it comes to service and only a couple minor dings on food. The fish tacos are good but fall just short of being great. White corn tortillas are, in my opinion, an abomination. You end up with a corn aftertaste that can't be washed away. The choice should be crunchy corn shell or a flour tortilla, but soft flour is not an option. Bummer. The breaded cod was excellent and cooked perfectly, the sauces were good but that's all there was inside. No lettuce or sprouts and the shredded cabbage was just piled up on top. The insides were a bit lacking. You should positively eat here, the breakfasts going to other tables looked epic and is one of the few places that serves Eggs Benedict and does so in variations. Unfortunately, my quest for the best tacos in town continues.
