Solid, reliable chain coffee shop that has evolved since its inception in Denver in 1958.
After a long day driving a behemoth U-Haul westward, I was fortunate that the first restaurant with a large enough parking lot to allow pull through spots was Village Inn.
I loved the early 1970s retro mod decor: the blue and brown decor, the font with the letters bouncing above and below the baseline hearkening back to a more optimistic time. Due to proximity to the interstate, many customers are in transition to somewhere else, like me.
The dinner menu is weighted toward easily modifiable skillets. Although specific vegetarian options appear on the menu, the kitchen accommodated modifications: the California omelet sans bacon was delicious. I would have liked an iced tea refill, though.
The restaurant was uncrowded, and my server (male with red hair tied back), and another (with handlebar moustache) were charming.
The manager seemed experienced. She closed blinds against the sun and just seemed to keep things running smoothly. Pleasant and efficient.

Read moreSuper relaxed vibes. Loved that the wait staff seemed to be wearing 90's rave goth inspired attire. Took me back to those golden ages of awesomeness. They also were extremely courteous, prompt, all smiles and embodied the PLUR vibes of proper rave culture. The chicken fried steak was perfectly breaded and crispy on the outside, deliciously tender and juicy inside. Paired perfectly with mashed potatoes also smothered in the same thick, country gravy. French cut green beans rounded off the plate perfectly drenched in butter and lightly salt and peppered. What took the longest was figuring out what kind of pie I wanted for dessert. OMG, the selections were seemingly endless and all sounded beyond delicious. Again thank you to the wait staff for being so patient and answering all my quirky questions about each pie and their properties. I can't even remember which one I got, but I regretted not getting a whole pie as soon as I devoured the one slice back at my hotel. Will definitely be eating here anytime im...
Read moreThis location is always excellent, it is my families go to when we want to eat at a Village Inn. The servers and other restaurant staff are always kind at this location. Management will even walk around at times and say hello to customers/see how their meals are etc. The food is always excellent and it is always made in a timely manner. I have even stopped in to this location during a work lunch break, told the waitress I am on a lunch break and they made sure to get my food out in record time. I usually get the Chicken Fried Steak Skillet, Chicken Fried Steak dinner meal or a Cobb Salad. All items I have ordered are divine. Also, my kids are never disappointed and order different meals each time we go. The environment is relaxing and this restaurant is always very clean. Covid restrictions are to wear a mask...
