Ricardo's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Las Cruces

The place was clean and nicely decorated. Just it was empty, don't know if they were going to close soon. But we were the only ones there. The staff was attentive and very nice. The food came out quick. We ordered tortas with fries and Horchata drinks. The price was good for the amount of food you get. There was plenty of meat in the tortas and it was the big torta bread not the small bolillos bread that other places use. The fries were crispy and they gave you a lot. The salsas tasted good, the green was mild and the red was spicy but good spicy. The only thing was that the Horchata was overpowered by too much clove flavor. I couldn't drink it. What a relief and pleasure to find this place after Filbertos closed down. The food and service are on point. This is Cali style burritos, tacos, and cuisine. Walked and was greeted as soon as I got thru the door. Menu was simple to read, and the gentleman taking the order was helpful with recommendations and gave his honest opinion! Got the sausage and egg burrito( I was craving one since Filbertos closed a while back). Also tried the mini tacos adobada. Both plates were delish!!! The red salsa is hotter than the green, but both have great flavor and add taste to the burros and tacos! I was very impressed with how clean the locale is, too! My husband and I stopped at this place while passing through Las Cruces. I'm giving 5 stars even though my own experience was mixed because my husband is still talking about the shrimp in his shrimp taco days later. He ordered two tacos then went back for a third because he needed more of their grilled shrimp. As for myself, I ordered guacamole and cheese rolled tacos. Nothing on the menu indicated there would be beef in the tacos, but there was. I'm a vegetarian.
