After hearing a lot about Born and Raised we decided to check it out. The place was crowed due to both the VGK and Men's Final Four going on. Although we were quite surprised to not see any of the tv's showing the Final Four. When asked about switching a tv (currently show Sports Center) to the Final Four we were told that it wasn't possible to go into the back to change the channel. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. I specifically ordered a Mango Cart draft. The bartender told me that the keg was out and it would be a few minutes before they changed it. I told them no problem. Those with my received their drinks as waited for mine. About 5 minutes later I noticed someone carrying a can of mango cart to the other side of the bar and then a few minutes later I received my "draft" beer. I assumed the keg had been changed due to the time it took to receive my drink, but when I went to order another, I watched the same bartender get a can of Mango Cart from the cooler, open it and pour it into glass to serve to me. As it was delivered I questioned whether or not this was a draft or a can, the response was this is from a can as was the first one I received. I explained that I ordered a draft beer both times. At this point the bar manager came over and said that the keg of Mango Cart was out and they were not going to have time to replace it. When I questioned why was I told it was being changed and to wait a few minutes for my beer, then served a can of beer instead of draft without ever being told? She stated that they are busy and there is no difference. To me and others there is a difference considering that I'm being lied to about the type of drink that I'm being served. The manager was very rude and not really wanting to accommodate me for their mistake. She finally asked if I wanted another drink instead, I selected a draft beer that was in stock and actually came from the tap this time. We also ordered food that wasn't very good either, average at best. For all the hype about Born and Raised, I can honestly say we will not be going back. There are plenty of other bar/restaurants in the area...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first time here and we came to celebrate our anniversary. We were surprised when we walk in as it seemed a lot bigger than it was. Seat yourself which is great except we didn't know and had to find a staff member on what to do. We order drinks and appetizers (Texas Style Nacho and Best Coast Tots) which both were very good. The issues we had came when they brought us the food and we didn't have any plates napkins or utensils. I sat there for a second waiting for the waitress to come back to give us the items we needed but nothing. I looked around and other people had plates and forks and stuff. So I went to the bar to at least ask for napkins so that we could start eating because the food was getting cold just sitting there. I felt as if I bothered them asking him for napkins and I had explained that we had nothing just our food and if I could have some napkins so we could start eating. We waited a little bit more and then I noticed nobody was still coming with any of the items so I flagged down a waitress that happened to be passing by and asked for plates and forks. The waitress had made a statement that they were waiting on forks to come out of the dishwasher which totally blew us away. Then they brought us 2 plates and one fork and 1 knife, and there were 2 of us and said this is all they have for right now.Our food is getting cold so I gave my husband the fork and I had to end up using my fingers and the knife to eat. Finally, they brought another fork and knife. Here is what we are disappointed about, noone communicated they were waiting for the utensils in the dishwasher until I asked after waiting AND to bring out food knowing we had no way to eat. Again the food and drinks were good but disappointed in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt leave many reviews. Actually the reviews I have left have been positive reviews of the shows Iāve been to and maybe one restaurant. That being said I would never recommend this B.A.R on Kevin street. I sat at the bar top, Iām a young blonde girl, so automatically I know stereotypes of āyoung and donāt tipā. Thatās the vibe I got. Iāve previously worked in the service industry so we all have stereotypes. Sat down and it took 15 minutes to GET the bartenders attention and ask him if I could order. He seemed surprised. Nothing looked appeasing so I went with the āyoung blonde girlā feeling and ordered chicken tenders. My gosh they were awful. How do you mess up chicken tenders? They came out on the plate, I took one bite and all the breading just fell off. Hmmm ok. I moved onto the next tender and left the now naked tender alone. Took another bite, the breading fell off. Now Iām trying to wave down the bartender who seemed to be ābusyā (sarcasm). I asked for a utensil setting. He counts 3 forks and gives all of them to me. I now have 3 forks. What am I going to do with 3 forks? Now I try to get his attention again and ask for a knife just so I can try and eat these overly priced naked tenders/ chicken tenders. I was never asked about the food, I would of told him it was awful, but maybe the cook was new? Boy did I pay the price when I got home. Ever see the scene in āWhite chicksā? Yeah, imagine that. NEVER AGAIN. I usually go to Distill but I was told I had to try this food. Never again. I wonāt be surprised if they close down due to a horrible menu and service. Less saidā¦. I DO...
