El Bolero — Restaurant in Las Vegas

First time visiting this restaurant with my family. Definitely would NOT recommend going there. First of all, as we entered, the entire restaurant had a horrible smell of drains. Their closing time is 9pm, we entered around 8:20pm. I've ordered a fried fillet fish and the cook started working on it right away... she had just turned on the friers as it looked they were ready to close. I ordered with rice and beans. My boyfriend had lamb and pork meat with rice and beans. They only had one set of utensils clean, and we had to wait for a second one which were wrapped in some type of paper towel and not napkins. The fork that was given to us tasted like raw fish. As we began eating I noticed that my fish was raw and politely told them at the register. The lady asked me if I want for her to drop my fish to cook more which was already TOUCHED by me. This is something the health district should definitely review!!! After answering rude, they asked the owner if they could remake my fish and the owner tried to make up an excuse about the raw fish. Obviously the cook had NO idea how or how long to cook the fish. The rice was dry and cold. It has stayed there the entire day probably from the taste of it which again, some health issue. They asked me if I wanted lemon, and handed me a not fully sliced lime, not packaged. As we were seated at the high chairs facing outside we could see reflecting of the window the owner walking around the food line and EATING!? So gross and unhygienic. Owners child was walking around the line as well. NEVER...

i hate leaving negative reviews. i gave the owner ample time to respond to me and she simply did not. i used the website to place an order. el bolero uses a 3rd party website "Fox" to take orders. 1) when my husband arrived at the specified time to pick up food the order had not even been received by the restaurant. 2) the website GROSSLY over charged me by $14. which was discovered when the order was wrong and i had to go back to the restaurant. 3) the website descriptions of food did not match what i received at all 4) the staff present is given no authority to fix anything so i had to wait for the owner to call. 5) when i talked to the owner she made it VERY clear that she would not refund me even though she knew i'd been charged way more than what is charged in the restaurant. she told me that i had to fight with Fox. She told me that she would call me back with contact info, she did not, even after i sent a reminder text. it is NOT obvious on the website that a 3rd party is being used 6) to "compensate me for time wasted etc. she offered me a free milkshake. which in my opinion is an insult. Regarding the food purchased, my husband was disappointed with his 'media noche'. The 'masas de res' that i ordered was okay. but after all that i lost my appetite. i would never return. i will definitely...

I was going to try to speak/type in the native language but well I didn't do very well at speaking and comprending in person but eventually when I used my phone translator it helped me embarassingly downgrade/cancel the beef on a tostada para mantequilla aka bread & butter but it came with plantain/banana chips which was a good portion for $3 and I should have expected meat with it to be $10 more since it is gourmet restaurant quality food and I just didn't know what to expect coming in off the street; I'm a half white Russian ashkenazi/caucasian jew half Mexican Irish French real native on my grandma abuelita side but I'm clearly still a gringo and have more learning to do even if I was the only white boy in my apartments growing up till I left LA for more gringo filled Vegas, but my grandma taught me.some. I need to remember having had several Cuban best friends that the dialects and cultures are different throughout the Latin world and I sound so white writing or typing this but I want to make the point that I deeply appreciate the service, so, here goes... 🥸🙈🙊😬😶‍🌫️
