After eating at this establishment 8n Washington D.C., I was SO HAPPY t9 see that the Franchise is now in Vegas!! Compared 5 Guys Vegas to 5 Guys D.C., of course D.C. won! While there I had a breakfast sandwich and fries, and the fries were PERFECT! I worked for a restaurant in Vegas where every morning we had to cut and blanch our fries for the Lunch and Dinner rush, so I am VERY famil8ar to how fresh-cut fries should be cooked. Cut first, then blanch, then cook the fries to order during Lunch and Dinner.
A "lesson" to how fresh-cut fries are SUPPOSED to be done: When blanching, the key is to NOT keep the fries in the fryer too long...you want to get them blanched to the point the fries begin to get a little "off white", and when you start ro see a little texture on them TAKE THEM OUR OF THE FRYER...YES. they are SUPPOSED to have no color when they're blanched correctly; blanching (cooking) them until they are brown will RUIN them because when they are put in the deep fryer the second time, you won't have anything but a big ol' order of over-cooked, tough, burned, greasy pieces of wood. NOT a good time.
I would love to always get my fries only from 5 Guys if the team members knew how to blanch then, set them aside, then COOK them. The way the Vegas teams are now, every single place had HORRIBLE fries.
I know some of y'all think that I'm taking fries WAY too seriously, but for the price of the fries at 5 Guys, they'd BETTER be perfect, just like they are in D.C./MD. batchcook them. Cooking fries is NOT easy. It's like when you cook eggs...you think that "it's just an EGG...SIMPLE to cook, right? WRONG...cooking the perfect egg is difficult to master, JUST like when you're blanching fresh-cut fries.
Okay..."French Fries 101" is over. I hope they will improve, otherwise, save your money and just grab ...
Read moreI'm giving this location 1 star in the hopes the District Manager will audit this location. First and foremost, the poor attitude and lack of urgency from the staff is the main problem. I came in today (Sunday around 1pm) and ALL crew had a distasteful attitude towards the customers. No greetings. I had to ask the gentleman baging takeout orders to 'drop fresh fries' for the Uber Eats order i was picking up. (Since company policy has customers wait for fresh fries until the driver arrives at the restaurant). He completely ignored me until he was done talking to his coworker. His female coworker also had a bad attitude. The food for the customer was actually ready, but not bagged. Just sitting on the counter. **This is the problem with company policy. Takeout and delivery orders should be bagged as soon as they are completed. As a delivery driver, I should not have to wait for food to be prepared once I arrive, it should be made a soon as the ticket is printed. This puts all of my other orders behind (today I had 2 other orders I was delivering at the same time). * I have already spoken to a manager at this location about this issue. She told me I could "call ahead" to let the restaurant know when I will be arriving. But after the poor attitude and service from the crew, I received today; that would be pointless. I'd also like to make note how extremely wasteful it is it double bag a delivery order. If all items fit into one bag. There's no reason to double bag the order unless it has beverages, or needs a bag with a handle. It's wasteful and not cost-effective. Please do better!
SN: I deliver for this location quite often. These are reoccurring issues. Not just...
Read more"4 in the door" is what the staff yells out as soon as we walk in and the experience has begun. There's no way you walk in here without being noticed. They are so considerate that they offer peanuts on your way to the register. The menu is pretty simple. They have little (one patty ) burger and the regular burger have 2 patties. They offer an all the way option which is all the ingredients in black. But I like to choose my own. They also have little fries and the regular and we always get the cajun fries yuuummmyyy. My kids either get a grilled cheese sandwich or a hot dog. We always get one drink and share because this place is pretty pricey. They do take awhile to make the food so they have peanuts to eat and crayons/paper for drawing. Once you get your food the burgers are labeled by numbers in the they were placed. So no wondering whether your eating your husbands burger or has eating yours haha. (You can also refer to your receipt in case you forgot) So let me breakdown this burger. First off your the one who built the burger so if you don't like it its yo own fault. From there every ingredient you chose adds to the personality of this burger. Whether you have some mushrooms that create a soft cushion or a crunch from an angry jalepeno. You are sure to miss this burger the moment you take that last bite. To top it off they slap you with what seems like half a pound of fries (they overflow the cup they came in). No point in trying to take those out just eat them straight...
