Read moreFish is not fresh! Fish is old and leaves a very fishy taste in the mouth. Very sad and disappointing. Wife cough the next morning and she threw up everything! Came here on a Friday night @9:00pm, with the wife. The restaurant is fairly small and can get a bit busy. No wait, but service was super slow, waited at least 30 mins before we actually got food. Had to ask the waitress if we could get our edamame so that we could at least start on our appetizer. I do like it when I see Japanese chef's making sushi, but sadly mistaken. The blue fin kamashitq tuna was not very buttery, bluefin should just melt in your mouth, a tiny sliver of a square piece, chewy in texture, and left a nice fishy aftertaste for a wonderful price of $19.50. If you are going to serve expensive sushi, make sure you serve fresh quality pieces. This is a shame on Japanese culture. You have been serving in Las Vegas too long. Maybe you should stop and take a vacation. Why are you charging so expensive if you are serving old pieces of blue fin? After eating it, we might immediately knew that it was not fresh, we noticed a lingering fishy smell, telling us the fish is not very fresh. I noticed I was eating a lot of ginger after every piece I was eating, really trying to cleanse my pallet. The uni was definitely old and looked if it was drying out ($14.50) The spider roll had too much sauce, masked a lot of the flavors, if there were any. Sauce should not make the sushi, the sushi should shine on the dish. We order the spider roll and it was mushy and drenched in multiple sauces. Came due to the reviews and photos. Those photos were from the hay days. This restaurant does not shine anymore and will be forgotten. I would not be returning. Prices are fairly high, sushi is not fresh, and service was super slow. Fishy aftertaste still lingering. WIFE GOT...
Read moreUPDATE: After 3 years had passed since my first visit to this restaurant, I wanted to re-visit this business with my family to see if I'd receive the same top-quality food and service. In short, we did receive that high-end quality/service during our 27 Jul 2024 visit. In fact, I will go on to say that I think this visit was even better than the first visit. I don't recall exactly what was ordered 3 years ago; however, for the recent visit, we ordered the Gyoza, Soft Shell Crab, Pork Belly, and Miso Soup for our appetizers; and the Ahi Tuna Sashimi, Garlic Tuna Sashimi, Octopus Sashimi, Dragon Roll, Lisa Roll, and Kamikaze Roll for our entrées. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful - I was amazed at how big the sashimi cuts were...normally restaurants tend to skimp out on this but not this place.
The restaurant's décor is still nice and the prices are still very reasonable. I'm not certain how long it will take until my next re-visit, but hopefully it won't take 3 years again. I'm not necessarily a fan of where this restaurant is located, but it definitely isn't unsafe either. I highly recommended this restaurant in my original review and I'm going to continuously recommend this restaurant to everyone! Great place to eat. The staff are very friendly and the prices are comparable to other sushi restaurants in Las Vegas. The restaurant size doesn't seem like it would accommodate a very large party (10+); however, I enjoyed the smaller feel to it...kind of reminded me of the traditional Japanese sushi houses in Tokyo. I highly recommend to everyone...my daughter and I had a...
