I love tiki bars! And I had been here years ago when I was in Vegas. I had been meaning to get back and my wife and I finally did. Drinks were awesome just could not make up my mind. Service was outstanding and we were there early arvo on a Friday and one of the owners was stocking the bar and he was a real nice guy as well. A great mix of locals, other out of town types like us aka tourist and even a band who was in town to play some joint was in getting a little relaxing beverages on a Friday. There are no sports on TV which despite the NCAA tournament going on I found a huge plus and needed change of pace. How many places put tvs all over and you never really pay attention to the actual place? There are TVs but they are playing old tiki vibe videos and very retro stuff. I added a couple of swizzles to the collection a cool t-shirt and great mug. It was the only souvenirs I brought back from Vegas. Again I was there 25 years ago or more and it was still awesome. It is a true tiki bar and does not try to be a tiki bar and something else. They do it right. Intimate and dark when you come into from a sunny Vegas arvo and it has the total package down right. I wish I was better at names but the gal behind the bar was helpful getting me the right rum combo that I was looking for with the taste my head was looking for. I started with a hint of berry then round two and three went more pineapple. All were perfect! I hate to give away secrets but this place beats any lame casino bar by a...
Read moreAwesome experience! It's not just a bar it's a destination. You walk through the door and are immediatly overcome by the old stale smoke smell. I almost turned around and walked out but the ambiance is just so great! You get over the heinous smell of dingy old cigarette smoke quickly. It's Vegas after all so get over your bad self!!!
We were greeted by the friendly female bartender with the unforgettable voice. She offered us the drink menu that I would normally say no to. The wife had to have a look and well I am glad she did. I had the "Fink Bomb" and it was quite tasty. I ended up having a few more they were just that good.
There is a great selection on the drink menu. From blended drinks to fruit juice and booze drinks. There is even an option to have your drink served to you in a tiki glass.
The bar is very dark with a great tropical vibe and weird fitting music and random videos playing on the big screen TV. The don't offer food unless you count the fruit served in your killer cocktail. Careful when using the bathroom as there is no real distinction for men vs. women.
We will be back to this bar next time we are in the area. Service was great and the bar is truly entertaining and fun. Will probably be back next time we have...
Read moreDaytime at Frankie’s is less crowded, less smoky so we arrived on a weekday (not busy) sat down at the bar and as we were putting our $ in the VP machine the bartender, Tonya asked what we would like to drink so we ordered a domestic beer and a hard seltzer (usually comped ) she asked twice if we wanted to “pay as we go or run a tab.” Gave Tonya my credit card because she was insistent. Played video poker for a while when we finished our drinks we cashed out our winnings and left a cash tip . Left the bar and realized I left/Tonya forgot to return my cc when we were cashing out our winnings so back to the bar to get the card . Arriving at the bar , I waited and asked a couple of locals who assured me drinks were comped except for tiki drinks. Tonya finished arranging her bev nap piles she presented me with the credit card and a bill for drinks. I politely asked her about comping drinks while gambling and she said “she didn’t know we were going to play so she had to charge us for the drinks “ she was quite rude and wouldn’t budge so I paid the bill. Not sure if this is a new way to bilk tourists or what. Have been coming here for the...
