Review: A Pricey Proposition There's a certain buzz around a new eatery, a promise of a delicious and novel experience. When I heard about this spot, my expectations were high. The notes I gathered promised delicious burgers, creamy shakes, and a few other tantalizing tidbits. But as with any review, the full story is in the details, and this one, it seems, has a plot twist in the form of a hefty price tag.
Atmosphere and Setting The initial impression of a place often sets the tone for the entire meal. While I can't speak to the exact decor, the feeling I got from my notes was one of casual indulgence. This is the kind of place you imagine stopping at on a hot day for something refreshing, a quick escape from the heat and the hustle. The promise of mango lemonade, a drink I found to be wonderfully refreshing, certainly fits this image. It's a simple pleasure, perfect for cooling down, and a great start to the meal.
Food and Drinks Now, onto the main event. My notes raved about the burgers, but the real showstoppers seem to be the sides and shakes. The fried pickles were noted with a simple but emphatic "yum!" which suggests they were crispy, tangy, and addictive, a perfect appetizer.
And then there's the star of the show, the strawberry milkshake. My notes called it "so creamy," a testament to its rich and luxurious texture. At first glance, this shake seems like a small slice of heaven. But as the saying goes, all good things come at a price, and here, that price is a steep one. The same can be said for the Chicken Shack, a sandwich that was deemed "fire" but immediately compared unfavorably to a more affordable competitor. The flavor might be on point, but if you can find a similar taste for less, the value proposition starts to crumble.
The cheese fries were another point of contention. My notes suggest a potential for greatness, but the experience was marred by a lack of heat. Lukewarm cheese on fries is a letdown, and it’s a shame that a simple detail like temperature could detract from what could have been a standout side dish.
Service My experience with the service was, to put it mildly, puzzling. Despite a notable lack of other customers and no queues, a simple milkshake took almost 20 minutes to prepare. This is a significant waiting time for a single item, especially one that is often a quick-serve staple. A delay this long, without a clear reason, can sour an otherwise pleasant meal and leaves you wondering about the efficiency of the operation.
Price and Value This is where the review takes a sharp turn. The most striking and repeated point in my notes was the exorbitant cost. At $6.49 for a milkshake, the price is described as "expensive as heck." This sentiment echoes throughout the notes, with a clear and firm decision to "never ever again" patronize the establishment due to its high prices. The disconnect between the quality of the food and the steep cost is the central issue. It's one thing to pay for a premium product, but it's another to feel like you are being overcharged for what you receive.
Conclusion This eatery is a tale of two halves. The food, particularly the burgers, shakes, and fried pickles, seems to be genuinely delicious. The flavors are there, and the quality is high. However, the experience is severely hampered by two key issues: slow service, even during quiet periods, and a pricing structure that feels unjustified. The cost is a major deterrent, so much so that it completely overshadows the positive culinary aspects.
Verdict While the food is certainly good, I cannot recommend this place for anyone on a budget. The value for money simply isn't there. If you are willing to overlook the high prices and potential for slow service for a tasty treat, then by all means, indulge. But for most, the steep cost makes this a one-time experience rather than a regular...
Read moreI didn’t have a good experience at this location. I ordered a meal and it took 30 minutes to get (as it turns out someone else took my order). While I was waiting, another person’s order was refunded so the staff took the milkshakes from that order and put it in the fridge (for themselves to enjoy later so it’s not thrown out as a waste - which makes sense). However, what I did not appreciate was when they realized my order was not received after 30 mins, they tried to give me the milkshake that was for someone else and was created 30 mins prior sitting in the freezer (it even looked deflated). They contemplated making a new one but decided to grab the old one from the freezer since it was the same flavour. When they handed it to me and I saw it all happen in front of my eyes, I asked they make it fresh and the staff member was rude and didn’t acknowledge me and walked away to ask one of her team members to make another one. Since she wouldn’t acknowledge me, I addressed another team member (who was very nice) because my order was missing another item as well.
Overall, I understand that situations can happen where orders may get delayed but I didn’t appreciate being served the old milkshake intended for another order. As well not being acknowledged even though I patiently waited for 30 mins and my order still missing an item! The rest of the staff did...

Food This was my first time to try, it didn't disappoint! The fries were fresh, hot and yummy with the truffle sauce and the Shack burger with crisp onion was heaven! This is a real burger! Juicy, real beef, fresh bun, less greasy than Super Duper burger. Liked the crisp oinon in the burger. They have beer so it is good to sit inside at cool temperature while waiting for your group members to finish shopping lol
Ambience It was casual, lively and busy but the patio was empty as it was hot and sunny outside. Good to grab a quick bite and go. Wish there was a mist machine outside.
Service Staff behind the counter was friendly and quick. The food was served to the table which is also nice.
Hygiene Table, the floor were all clean.
