Man, I can't believe I'm about to type this becatse if you go look at my reviews you'll see I NEVER give perfect scores and high praise like this place earned from me yesterday.. Even more incredibly, is the fact that this kind of place still exists with such good food and service coupled with reasonably modest pricing because you just don't see it anymore anywhere in this town EVER.. .. Lo & behold, enter Napoli's on Sahara (as well as on W Lake Mead and I assume any other locations) with its genuinely friendly staff, excellent high quality food and not crazy out of line ridiculously asinine prices which would be the case at ANY other joint offering this level of food and experience.. Typically, you tend to get what you pay for, and in general if you want the best food then you're gonna pay dearly for it, and let's be honest: You STILL won't get the best no matter how much you pay these days and it's becoming damn near impossible to find a decent food place regardless of cost.. However, there are some exceptions that prove the rule I guess where you are still somehow transported to some alternate reality twilight zone in which you are able to expect the absolute pinnacle of delicious food and sincerely personable ppl running the show while that thing on your back side stays un-bismirched and un-molested (I'm referring to your wallet, you crazy sick-o ) and Napoli's happens to be one of these increasingly elusive establishments that so rarely exists in this country.. This country, where it seems to me that everyone is becoming so much more nihilistic and negative in their outlook because we all see so much failure in dining as we're being forced to accept weaker and lamer dining experiences for higher and more typically un-earned prices! I was accompanied by my domestic partner and my visiting from out of town aunt around 2 pm yesterday (July 31st) and I suggested Napoli's based on the consistently excellent dining experiences at our normal location off W Lake Mead and I was surprised to find out this location is just as good as the other, if not better! We ordered an 18" Margherita as a take-out meal and decided to sit down and visit for a few minutes while we tried a slice each, right? Yeah, that was the plan but it was so damn good we abandoned our plans and got comfortable right there and the staff didn't act like this was an inconvenience or anything, but instead they were welcoming and cheerfully swift in transitioning us from takeout to dine-́in. Many places are staffed by selfishly deluded jokers who are ready to groan, huff, puff and whimper if they are faced with the situation I just described where the intention changes from take out to dine in because it's something atypical and seemingly inconvenient for em, but this particular joint was absolutely lacking in the bad attitude or whiney cryass department while offering plates, napkins, drinks and convincingly hospitable smiles instead. And again, the food, man.. The food was - it was just so FLAWLESSLY DELICIOUS that there wound up being NO LEFTOVERS of an 18" Margherita between 2 modest females and myself (no slouch in the pizza smashing arena) so that ought to be a clear indication of just how awesome this pizza was.. Anyway, this is extremely verbose already so I'm gonna wrap it up here before I have to break it up into several volumes in a collection of novels or something with gratitude for giving myself and my companions an excellent life experience that I can recall later on with a sense of nostalgia and appreciation for the good company and good food that was easily worth every penny...
Read moreIf I could give this place less than one star I would. This is actually the very first time I reviewed anything but what happened tonight cannot be swept under the rug. I was told when placing a delivery that it would take 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes for the food to be delivered. 1 hour and 15 minutes later I received a phone call telling me they ran out of what I ordered. I was told by the woman on the phone that she was just told this. Confused by her answer I asked her if she works for Napolis. She said yes which I then asked well then how could you just have been told this if you work there? She then told me the cooks just told her. And then she told me it hasn’t been 1 hour and a half it’s only been 1 hour as if that was justification for them having me wait as long as I did. In actuality it was 1 hour and 15 minutes that I had waited which really meant that based on the original time of 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes that I was told meant that they were approximately 5 more minutes that the order should’ve been here. And they took this long after waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to tell me that they ran out of what I ordered? So did that mean if they did have what I had ordered were they not going to begin preparing and cooking it until a full hour and 15 minutes later after I ordered it? Why was I not contacted at least 5 or 10 or even 15 minutes after I placed my order that they ran out of what I had ordered? Why was I told of this 5 minutes before I was originally told it should’ve been delivered? I have worked at places like Napolis when I was young and to do this to a customer would have been completely unacceptable. I guess that doesn’t matter today. Customer service and building up customer loyalty seems to have gone right out the window. How sad. What is worse is that this all seemed perfectly OK to them. Just order something else and leave it at that. I wonder if I did if another hour to hour and 20 minutes would’ve been added to that?
I declined to order something else and was told that my money would be refunded within 3 to 5 business days. When I pressed a little bit about this I was then told it would be refunded tomorrow. I don’t know if I was told this just because they wanted the phone call to end, but I definitely told them they’ll be hearing from me if the money is not refunded.
So there it is. This review had nothing to do with the quality of the food. It has to do with something vitally important that every service industry has to have before they can even begin to call themselves successful. That is customer service. I’m sure what happened to me tonight is something they really don’t care about and will not affect how they run their business or their success. It’s sad to see something like this happen in a service industry town that we live in. Where we treat our own local customer base in this manner. I have been very supportive and very generous of our local businesses here doing what I can as I am sure everyone has. It just sad to have something like this happen with no care of...
Read moreI have been going to this location on sahara and decatur for some time now, and i always order for carry out but this time we wanted to just get a quick bite to eat and head home. Now I understand it's busy but we waited about 30min befor anyone really noticed us, we ordered waters witch came in small styrofoam cups and taste like it came straight out of the water faucet, then we had some questions about the menu and the short chubby guy just kept walking past us, now why it took him so long to check and see if we where ok is beyond me, finally and young woman came to take our order and she was super nice we order a pizza wings and potato skins after waiting another 35 min or so we got our pizza and wings, agin no one came to check and see if we where or or to fill our water cups after we where done eating we ask about our potato skins the girl went to check and they said about 15min or so, ok so we waited so we could take them home, we got the check and notice the potato skins where not on there so we thought " oh they are being nice and took them off since we waited so long for them" cool we then ask the short chubby rude guy about them and he says ok i will check on them for you, now he says it's 7min left ok cool I will go pay the bills on the receipt was 35 something he rung us up for 48 something, when I ask him why the receipt says one thing and ur ringing me up something different, he then says bc u weren't charged for the potato skins... Now when I said no you guys made the mistake and we have been waiting for a very long time we shouldn't have to pay for those, your employees made the mistake... I then ask to speak to the manager and he went to the back and the manager refuse to come up front and speak to a unhappy, paying customer, so for me I find it very disrespectful that the MANAGER would not come speak to a paying customer, i don't care how busy it is. I work customer service and this was the worst I have even been treated. I will NEVER agin eat or support this place agin. Now agin I will say the young ladys where very nice but the manager and the short chubby guy are super rude and should not have a job in...
