I think the outside of this place used to look like a fish and ships restaurant. Well, it’s different now. The outside got a overhaul. But the inside is where you spend the most of your time. And I have it say... it is nice inside. Not too small, and not too large where there is no intimacy. You want an excuse to walk past someone you like by the way without being too obvious.
Anyway, my first time there and besides being searched - it was enjoyable. Then I realized I was supposedly on the West side of town, it that preconception faded away fast as the crowd was all grown folks. Which translates to chill and enjoyable.
There was an entertainer named Sly, who is a one man band and he was excellent. He played music from the 60 to 80s - I think because I did not know some of the songs because I am an 80-90’s era person. But I was still entertained.
I had the Calamari and Chips. Which was good. I started at 6pm and ended up leaving at 8 on a Friday night.
So, yes. Ignore the environment outside and get inside. It is safe. Has security, who will search you - and there was at least 7 staff on duty including the owner.
See pictures, I will definitely go back when I am around that area to catch an eat and listen to...
Read moreNew upbeat Jazz Club. Owner is a handsome gentleman ,who cares about people and the community. His new place has revived a part of the West side with a spark of life. The Building itself is going through renovations, what has been done is fabulous. Safety first is the vibe I got with a polite, handsome officer patting down men upon entry. All the Staff is very attentive and friendly. At The West Side Oasis it's DJ keeps the place grooving. The Dance floor was never empty. The local talent is filling up the place, you won't be disappointed. They even have a Bar & Grill , I hear the catfish is superb. I will try it next weekend when I go for the Tribute show presented by Anthona , who Is truly iconic and a grand asset to this happening Jazz Club. You never know who you may see there, a World Heavy weight boxer, Old School classic bands or your neighbor. Give it a try and head West to 808 Lake Mead Dr. I promise...
Read moreNot what I thought. For it to be presented as BLACK OWNED... The front person, "Yes, is African American" but that stops there. The real owners let their presence be known. One female wait staff, made you pay for your food as soon as your food hit the table & let you know her tip was added into the total already. So a charge that was $12 went to $20. While the young man, who served my sister & I waited till our evening was over. I tipped accordingly. The female who hoovered all over, made one customer uncomfortable by coming by constantly for no reason. They bend the rules for certain people. Noticed more than one come in wearing sports gear & sneakers. While a friend was told her attire wasn't dress code. Make that make sense. I will say. Food was good Waiter I had was on point Very nice place. Would not show my support again. Nice they have a escort to your...
