Extremely Disappointing Experience
We visited this restaurant on a Wednesday to celebrate a birthday, expecting to enjoy the rich flavors Peruvian cuisine is known for. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.
Service was extremely slow, rude, and unprofessional. Our server showed a clear lack of interest in her role, and it took far too long for both our order to be taken and for the food to arrive. When the Anticuchos appetizer finally came, it was so salty it was inedible. We informed the server politely, but her dismissive response—“We’ve served this all day and no one has complained”—was unacceptable. She walked away mid-conversation, offering no resolution and leaving us unable to order a replacement.
We chose to share the remaining two dishes rather than continue engaging. I ate most of the Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos and was ill the next day with mild food poisoning symptoms, which impacted my ability to work.
To top it off, we had to get up and search for our server just to pay the bill. The lack of care in both service and food quality was shocking. This experience not only reflected poorly on the restaurant, but sadly, on the broader representation of Peruvian cuisine. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not...
Read moreHave been supportive of this place for 3 years since they opened. Service was always slow-ish but very well intentioned, the decor is cheap but clean, the portions were huge, the food quality was average Peruvian, and the kitchen was always slow as molasses. So if you ordered ahead of time or did take out with a 2 hour lead time you were usually ok. But no more... After trying to dine in tonight they just lost all goodwill earned over these years. Took our appetizer orders, then we waited.... Then the waitress came back with the check and said it had to be paid before they started the order. Ok. Tonight is busy, fine... Add the 20% tip and she goes away happy. As we keep waiting our group decides we should play it smart and put in our main dishes ASAP because we know the kitchen can get behind. So we place that order. And again we wait (each time I wrote wait think 30 minutes not 5). Waitress comes around again with this tab to be paid. Ok fine. Same schtick. Then we ask where are the apps? Anyhow... 3.5 hours later - they got 1 main course to us in that time after paying and tipping on 2 checks. I tried to dust it off since this is our only remotely local and edible Peruvian unless you go to walnut Creek or SF, but no...
Read moreI have been there various times, food is great , both of the owners are really nice and they make sure your are satisfied with their service all the time , sometimes there is a bit of wait since there are short staff and there is times that the restaurant is super busy but they always try their best to keep everyone satisfied . The desserts are the best part for me I have a sweet tooth , I love their milhojas , crema volteadas and alfajores. My husband is Mexican and he is very picky with food and the owners always accommodates him and the way he likes his food . Doña Delmy is super sweet and makes you feel like you are one of your relatives home . The food is good compared to other Peruvian restaurants around the bay are this is one of those hidden spots to go try and cheaper .Now that fridays they doing picarones and karaoke is my place to go with my family. I would recommend you to give it a try , they even have specials on the pollo a la brasa on Wednesday but you do have to call in to see around what time is going to be ready since they make all their...
