I wish I can give this place zero stars. I can’t tell you of the food was good because we never stayed long enough to order . From the time we walked in The customer service HORRENDOUS! We sat ourselves, which is fine because it’s not really a hostess type place but the one person they had attending the dining room did not greet me and my friend and never came over to us . We had to bother her to get her attention for a menu which she sent a child to bring a dirty menu to us. The kid was nice along with the other two children running around the place who I’m sure were family members of the staff . Anyway, she still never came to ask us if we wanted anything and when I tried to get her attention again she threw her finger up like hold on and said something in creole but she proceeded to take phone order one after the other but ignored the in house guest? Make that make sense ? Then my friend got up and went to go speak to her at the bar to see if we can ask for two glasses of wine . This part is real interesting… she pours exactly two shots of wine in each glass like she was pouring liquor!! lol and on ice without asking if we wanted ice in the wine! Ridiculous. Then I proceeded to tell her that it’s standard in every restaurant in America for wine to be at least a 5 oz serving and not the two shot glasses she was trying to give us. She walks off and the male child comes to our table and pretty much validates what I said , a freaking child ! He knows more about how much wine is supposed to be in the glass! The lady threw the wine away in the garbage and never apologized or tried to make it right. She stormed off with an attitude saying something in creole and went into the kitchen talking mess! She never greeted us, never tried to give us service, then tried to short us wine and got upset because we pointed out her lack of attention and professionalism. If she were my wait staff I would fire her immediately!!! Needless to say we did not stay. We found another restaurant and ate delicious food. This was one of my worst customer service experiences ever at...
Read moreFound this place by accident however in life I’m learning most GREAT things are found by accident and this place was no different. I came to pick up my mother from her overseas travel and she was hungry to say the least. She requested Haitian food and so my search began and we started to make our way to this restaurant because it was close to the turnpike. From the moment we walked in I knew it was the right place. The decor was tasteful and modern and the place was spacious. They had a selfie wall which kept my young brother busy for a bit and I can admit I even took a photo myself. Don’t want to forget to mention they have a FULLY stocked bar to which my companion enjoyed a glass of Hennessy while we waited for our food to come. The owners were there and they were personable and professional and might I say prompt. I ordered the fried pork with the black rice and it came with fried plantains and what we like to call our spicy cabbage and it was simply the best. The meat was seasoned and fried to perfection. The portion was just right. My mother ordered the legume which is simply put our version of mixed vegetables over a bed of white rice and a black bean sauce which you can see from her smile hit the mark and satisfied her hunger. Lastly, my brother ordered a fried fish which did take a few minutes to prepare however I can assure you it was well worth the wait. The fish was served with some lime wedges and garnishes that added to the flavor and I must say it was delectable. The fish was crispy on the outside however remained juicy and seasoned without being dry on the inside. It was my only regret that I didn’t order another to go home with. The sides were rice, plantains and Haitian macaroni which was very delicious and not dried out like some other places I’ve been to as well. Mark my words this place is and will be the next BIG THING and I will be back with more people in 2 weeks to continue its growth. It’s a great place to host any event and couple that with the service and food, we have a win-win. See you...
