Oh my God I'm blown away! The owner and the self-proclaimed "just the owners mom" were behind the counter when I walked in. They were so friendly and welcoming! I got a chicken salad on sourdough bread with a side of mac and cheese. Everything was super delicious and fresh! The price is amazing. After I sat down and took a few bites I was ready to leave a rave review but then to top it all off.
The woman who is bussing the tables and helping people out saw that I was there alone and started a polite conversation. She found out it was my first time and got me a sample of the baked potato casserole. She said I had to try it since it was my first time. She was 100% right! I'm not usually a fan of baked potatoes but this casserole couldn't be beat! She said they do different ones all the time and I'm excited for my next visit!

This area in general has some very exceptional lunch spots. Fitzgerald's leads the pack by far. During my first visited I ordered the ubiquitous Rooster sandwich and it didn't disappoint. The Chef had a twice baked potato app (I can't remember the correct name) which was unbelievable. And for those still currently serving they offer you a free drink with your lunch.
I like the place some much I came back the next day with a bogger group. Suffice to say the first visit wasn't a fluke this time the meal was probably just a tad better with the same great friendly service. I had the Cuban and the mac and cheese which were both superbly done.
Come here now. You...

Sort of a fun cafeteria style sandwich place. Place your order, they make the sandwich in front of you as you go down the line. Handful of chips with each sandwich.
I got the sandwich that has chicken with avocado and some nice spice. It was awesome. The bread was hearty but not overly chewy and the meat was perfectly cooked. It had some onions and all the flavors worked together perfectly. One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time.
Eager to head back again to try the Cuban. Staff was very friendly and efficient as well. Not a cheap lunch, my sandwich & fountain drink was about $15 with tip, but worth...
