White Castle — Restaurant in Lawrence

When did start costing 10 bucks to feed one person at White Castle?! I remember when WC was the cheap place you went when you were sacrificing your gut for your wallet. The last time I went to WC will be the last for sure until the seriously rethink their prices. For $10 I got 4 of the smallest cheese burgers known to man, small fries, small drink (basic 4 slider meal with cheese), and an extra side of onion petals (medium I think) because I knew that the meal wouldn't even come close to filling me up. And even with the extra side I was still hungry. I'm not complaining about the taste-I love the flavor of their food, all of it, but their cost jump over the years is ridiculous. As a comparison, I went to the 'high end' burger joint when I was a kid-I won't name names but they have milk shake happy hour from 3-5, I spent 6.50 on a double bacon cheese burger meal with probably 4-5 times as much meat on it as all the sliders and 10 times as much veggies, more fries and a much larger (their regular) drink and when I was done eating I was full. Now you can't compare the flavor because they are making completely different styles of burgers, and in that regard I won't say one is better than the other. But how is it that WC sliders used cost 25-30% of most fast food burgers and now they cost 100-125% of other fast...

Horrific experience with this place. I pulled up to the drive-thru and the woman taking my order said "Can you wait just a second?" so I said "Sure" - As I am waiting I am looking at the screen where you would usually view your order on and all I see is a bunch of orders being made with employee discounts, about 6 different orders. Then the screen opted back to advertisements 15 MINUTES later and I kept saying "Hello" and no one answered so I drove up to the window and some woman pokes her head out and says "Umm, did you order anything?" and I told her what happened very nicely and she asked me what I wanted and in the middle of me ordering she shut the door and went to do something, not sure what, but then came back and said half the things on the menu aren't ready so it will take a while. so I ended up ordering something I didn't even want, and i got no apology until the very last minute when she handed me my food. She gave me a cold look, and said "Sorry about that" and shut her door. By far the worst, unprofessional business I have ever seen. I can't believe I had to pay them for that...

Sadly again and again I give this location another shot and they can’t seem to get my order right It’s not a complicated one, I just want some season salt on my fries ??? Why is that such an issue here?? I seriously can’t get them to do it ! For some reason they are slow even if nobody is waiting and I don’t really mind because usually the food is fresh and the staff is pretty friendly, just kind of abrupt or something but even that I don’t care much about just get my food right. I don’t eat food out but maybe 3 times a year so I’d I choose a place and it’s incorrect it’s pretty irritating. Guess it just is a reminder of why I don’t eat out often besides my OCD about food cleanliness. If I can’t see my food being prepared I am reluctant to eat it. I’m strange I know. Oh well maybe they will get it right...
