EXTREMELY disappointed and INCREDIBLY overpriced.
When you walk in you're greeted by a statue of Aquaman. I thought that was a fun thing to see. We were then greeted by very friendly people and seated immediately. The waiter was friendly. This was our first time. He explained everything with patience. Great guy.
I 0rdered the Captain and my son made his own. We also ordered the calamari for an appetizer. For starters, the calamari was a huge disappointment. It had way too much breading and you could barely taste the calamari. I feel like we paid $7.50 for breading. The food itself wasn't anything spectacular. It was ok but definitely not worth the money. Mine was over seasoned and his was under seasoned. However, the seasoning didn't have time to permeate the food. It seemed to sit on top which is why it tasted over seasoned. The outside was overpowering but the insides were bland, unseasoned and boring. My crab legs were extremely tiny and there was a ton of sausage. I feel like I paid for mostly sausage. His crab legs were the same, very small. He also got crawfish and shrimp. For the price he could have gotten a few more. He said there was virtually no spice to his. Nothing we had was bad, it just wasn't good either. Especially not for the price.
The atmosphere left something to be desired. It was decoreded very well. It was charming. The music was WAY too loud and the speakers were blown. This made the already too loud music even more annoying. It also made it hard to have a conversation. My son has hearing problems from the military which made it worse, so having a normal conversation was impossible. The floor was incredibly sticky. My shoes stuck to the floor. That was gross. It made me wonder how well everything is cleaned. I had to wash the bottom of my shoes when I got home because it was so sticky.
Lastly, the price. OMG it is INCREDIBLY overpriced. We paid $87 for 2 people. We didn't get anything spectacular or out of the ordinary. This was a $50 meal. Not nearly $90. I can get crab legs and crawfish at a buffet for a lot cheaper. It will taste better too.
I'm a firm believer in giving places a second chance. If it wasn't up to standards the first time, remember, no one is perfect. It could have been an off day. Just because you don't like one thing on the menu, doesn't mean there isn't something else you will like. In this case, that won't happen. We won't return. They are so overpriced I'm not willing to spend $100(including tip) to give it another chance. It's simply not worth it, especially with the sticky floors.
So, don't waste your time or money. You'll get overpriced, bland food. It gets 2 stars because of the staff. They are the reason I didn't give...
Read moreI ordered mild juicy special sauce with green mussels 1/2 lb and shrimp, very bad experience from the beginning. I called to order, girl that answered the phone was unaware of prices. She quoted me $42 for 1/2 lb of shrimp and mussels.I informed her that my meal is normally $21 at castleton location but she insisted on the price. I went ahead and ordered online to get the correct price. I picked up my food tried 2 pieces of shrimp and 1 mussel, it was the most bland unseasoned food i had ever tasted compared to other locations. I called spoke with manger and advised that i was unhappy with my food and that is was not enough sauce and sauce was very unseasoned. She stated to bring food back and they will remake my food. I get there to speak with two managers that kept looking at my food and said i ate some of the food. Well of course i tried it to find out it was nasty. I asked for a $22 gift card to get food from another location and was told since i ate some of the food then i could only get a $10 gift card. I asked if i could be refunded full amount and was told no. Managers refused to re-make my food. Mangers offered to make me a new side of sauce which i took the offer due to i didnt want to get rid of the food that i paid for with little to no compensation. It’s safe to say that i would not recommend eating here due to poor tasting food and horrible customer service, such a waste of money. I will not be returning to the pendleton pike location. I recommend castleton and 86th street, i have never had a problem at...

FOOD Hushpuppies were delicious, smaller than I expected but you get 10 of them for a cheap price. The sauce it came with was unexpected and odd as I've never had hushpuppies come with a side of ranch 😂 (Hello, Midwest much?)
1 lb of crawfish + Mr Captain + 1/2lb of sausage added. We got the Juicy seasoning and mild for both. The bags came out hot and tasted great. They had a low heat and a lot of flavor. One bag came with a tad too much butter/oil but it might have been due to the sausage. The boiled eggs were good as a palette break as they were not as seasoned. The shrimp was plump, and the crawfish and cluster of crab legs were normal sized.
Pro tip: We cut up the potatoes into smaller slices using our forks and then pushed them around in the sauce before eating.
Near the end, the sausage gets to be a bit too salty from sitting in the sauce.
SERVICE Our server checked up on us a few times and gave us each a refill. She wasn't the most energetic or cheerful, but that isn't usually something I necessarily need from a server. I did need to get our bill timely though as after we finished eating, we sat there for some time twiddling our thumbs waiting to pay.
VIBES Big maritime energy inside with wooden barrels and giant lobster statues. This place is fun and themed.
Surprisingly empty/quiet for Saturday lunch.
They were playing some pop hits from the 2000s-2010s (e.g "No One"...
