Ok I hope this is just a bad timing thing but the experience was just horrible. My daughter and I were hungry after helping her sister and she wanted a waffle so we headed here. We do not usually eat at 9 on Saturday but hey it's a 24hr waffle place and we had some growling bellies. So we get there and the a/c was running full and it's 47 outside. This is not unusual as I've been in several like this. My problem was it took almost 6 min for us to even be acknowledged and we sat at the highbar. Keep in mind there wad only 3 ppl in the entire place as we walked in right behind 4 individuals that just arrived as well. There was 1 grill cook 2 preps and a male and female server. There was also a supervisor present but disappeared quickly. Finally after about 10 min of watching employees do their hair, play on their phones, and get some minimal training on how to turn breakers on and off we got our order taken. I was ready to split, but how do you tell your child were leaving after putting in the wait? So 20 min in we get our food in sequences. She had scrambled eggs which were good. Her waffle then came over cooked brown and had a half a teaspoon of chocolate chips on it. When I cut it up I knew she was going to be disappointed. I ordered steak eggs and hasbrowns. The steak was over cooked dry and chewed like leather. I believe it had sat too long in a cooler. Plus first bite it was cold. Don't know how you can get an overcooked steak cold but they pulled it off. The eggs were ice cold except for the center of the yolk which was Luke warm at best. The hasbrowns were crisp on the outside but not fully cooked and that was easy to tell as the onions in them were still crunchy. The server came and asked if there was anything we needed 10 min. after I had pushed both plates away and told my daughter I couldn't eat it. It only took me a few mins to eat. I forced the eggs down and chewed about 6 bites of the steak as fast I could and swallowed so we were pretty much invisible. Both of us were disappointed though my lil girl forced her waffle down to keep from disappointing me with wasted food. No one even asked us how our meal was even upon checking out. Our server took my receipt and asked cash or card? I said card he typed it in then split. I gave him a buck because he couldn't even hang enough to give me my receipt. It seems I'm rambling on but I'm not. I think everyone involved on this crew needs held accountable for their lack of initiative. We would have been when I was young. We didn't get paid $14+ and have a tip jar at every corner of a place like you see now and yet the service is worse. I travel for a living and in 10 years this is my 3rd garbage review. If only they knew I was ready to drop a $50 tip as a lady did a woman a very kind solid at the auto store earlier and it made me want to do the same though I do this often because I like to see things paid forward. Sorry greendale waffle house but the only thing I can pay you forward is this dreadfully honest horrible review. I have had superb experience and a+ meal at this establishment on a busy morning with just 3 older ladies working a full place several months ago. I hold management or the crew lead responsible for this experience. They are in for a long night if this is how they operate. Lost my business for a good time now. I'm done spending my hard earned cash on poor service and terribly cooked food.
To answer questions below pertaining to any other waffle house I have been, I would recommend tbone and eggs for the price and taste as well as the waffles hence the...
Read moreTo start off as soon as we walked in every booth had dirty dishes on it we waited for about 25 mins before we was even acknowledged after the server seen we was there she begin to go to a booth to clean it she never cleaned it got side tracked like she was confused I went to the table and cleaned it so we would have a place to sit after we sat down we still wasn’t acknowledged for awhile I proceeded to get our menus so when the server came we could get out drink and order at the same time after we ordered 25 minutes later our server seemed very confused onto what was going on she was talking to herself asking what day it was and etc it took us 10 minutes to receive our drinks. Our cook was outstanding he was having to work with what he had and he was trying his best our food was great once our food got done the cook proceeded to bring our food to the table because our server was standing at the counter rocking back and forth after further observation our waffles begin to sit out and we received them cold at this point we was over it and ready to go the hotel after being on the ski slopes all day while we was eating I observed the store and the server was forgetting who’s food went where and who ordered what drink it was bad. I highly advise you to watch this Waffle House as we had a awful experience Upon entering the establishment, we noticed that every booth had dirty dishes. We waited approximately 25 minutes before being acknowledged by the server. After she observed our presence, she began to clean a booth but became distracted and confused. I took matters into my own hands and cleaned the table to provide a place for us to sit. Despite our efforts, we were still not acknowledged for a while. I proceeded to obtain our menus so that we could order our drinks and meals simultaneously. After placing our order, 25 minutes later, our server appeared to be perplexed about the situation. She was engaged in self-talk, inquiring about the day and other details. It took us an additional 10 minutes to receive our drinks. Our cook performed admirably, despite the limited ingredients available. His efforts were commendable, and the food was delicious once it was prepared. However, after our meal was served, the cook brought our food to the table because our server was standing at the counter, rocking back and forth. Further observation revealed that our waffles had sat out and were served cold. At this point, we were beyond patience and ready to leave the establishment. While we were dining, I noticed the store and observed that the server was consistently forgetting who had ordered what food or drink. This lack of attention to detail was unacceptable. I strongly advise you to avoid dining at this Waffle House, as we experienced a profoundly...
Read moreI've been coming to WH for the past two months now (me and my girlfriends enjoy coming right after the bar closes) and boy let me tell you - the (I think third shift) workers are the nicest people around. I've been there enough times to know the workers by their faces even when super intoxicated.
Marcus is usually my waiter and is SUPER efficient. The blonde kid and the girl seem new but do a decent enough job. (the blonde young man is very charming - fellas, lock up your women!) The two cooks that are usually there are engaged yet stay professional. The lady cook is always very nice to us and has helped serve us a few times - she talks about her plants a lot lol.
One night, however, I came in for a quick bite and a different girl took my order. (this was a week or two ago) I think her name was Marsha or Marceline? I was a little tipsy and honestly cannot remember. As soon as I came in, her and another waitress split my table which was fine. wasn't mad until she literally called my friend a "broke b*tch" for not leaving a tip as we were leaving. We tipped the other girl but we didn't tip Marsha/Marceline because she refused to fill drinks for us and kept texting people instead of doing her job AND was on the phone with someone even when taking our order. I also watched her argue with the cook AND the other waitress while we were eating - lowkey ruined the experience. I've never had an issue like this before and I've never seen ANY Greendale WaffleHouse employees act like this. Maybe she was new and not trained properly??? I've not seen her around since that night thankfully but my friend has told me that he doesnt feel comfortable coming here anymore. I would appreciate it if I could get an update on this worker so I can get my friend to start coming...
