We have been in the process of a move for three weeks and as a result have done a lot of ordering in. Our go to is usually Chinese and moving in to a new place has given us a lot of new restaurants to chose from. This is the first time ive been compelled to write a review.
Let's skip right to it: the food quality is terrible. We ordered a good variety of items on the menu as there are a lot of mouths to feed and the closest thing to decency was the crab Rangoon, and those were passable at best. One of the six of us found the Mongolian Beef "decent", but in general it was not good. The Sesame chicken, my go-to and metric for determining quality, was disgusting. Soggy, cold, oddly sweet amd somehow "squishy", I threw the majority out. The Singapore Mei Fun came across as fancy Cup Noodles, with no spice and an abundance of curry to override it. Egg rolls had a great crunch and texture bur somehow had zero flavor. Not sure how that happens, but they pulled it off. I could go on but you get the point.
To add insult to injury they managed to short our order, but at least there was less to throw away. Do yourself a favor and give this a hard pass. We've got other places to try but so far Oriental Garden is the best. Time will...
Read moreTo say this place is an institution in Lawrenceville would be an understatement. Eat here often enough and you will see people from all walks of life and leaders from the community eating with you. Typically I eat here for lunch because the food is good, hot, and fast and you absolutely cannot beat the price. I am usually in and out for under $10 -tio included. Do yourself a favor though and try it for dinner. The menu changes somewhat but the value cannot be beat. The wait staff are super friendly and once you come a few times they remember you and what you order. The health department is located right next door and it's always a good sign to see lots of staff from there eating lunch. Love this place, and highly...
Read moreBlacl people be aware. When I walked in, there was a table pf about 10 people (old white people). One of them shout,"out'. The two.chinese women began to look at me aggressively as they attended to the table. At no point, did either one say hi. I stood there for a few minutes. Another white couple was in the booth. The man tried to look at me aggressively. Soon changed his mind. For the black.customers, if these Chinese people are nice to you, it is fake. Also, my shrimp toast was burned. I will see if I can post a picture. The treatment and food was terrible, all in the name of doing what their white evil customers started. There are better places to eat in Lawrenceville and to be treated with the respect...
