Went for lunch on Oct 2nd 2020. My brother, his wife and I were seated promptly at a high top table. We weren't given an option in seating. We would have preferred a regular table or booth, unfortunately the only open booth was taken by the couple that enteres after us. The restaurant was about 3/4 full, we were the only ones at a stand alone high top the entire time we were there. I wish to note at this time, I wish there was a counter for how many times I thought from this point on, I wish we had gone somewhere else or I wish we could just leave. The entire wait staff proceeded to ignore us. I don't know who our waitress was. When we finally saw ours for the first time, the people that took the booth that came in behind us were already getting their food. After sitting there for a while and talking, I decided to go ask the bartender for a manager. Before I could get off my stool, an employee not in a black shirt stopped and asked if we needed drinks. We gave her our drink order, and at this point I thought ok, maybe she was our waitress and had been tied up? Perhaps the rest of the meal would go better. I was wrong. We got our drinks. Then got forgotten for another 10 minutes. This is when we finally met the lady who was our waitress. She took our orders, then asked if we wanted a refill, that she did not bring until asked for again after the meal arrived. The meal arrived after the appetizer. It was a long long thirsty lunch guys. After the food arrived she never came back again to check on us. No refills. No hows your food? No did you need anything else? I literally set a mental timer and said outloud if she does not come back in 30 minutes I am just leaving. I could not even eat my food it was so salty (kind of like this review) she finally returned and asked if I wanted a to go box, I said no, but I would like a check and that mine was separate from my family. My brother told her my food was way too salty. She took it and walked off. No apology, no attempt to fix it, brought back the full check and I had my card ready to pay her before she disappeared again. We paid and walked out. Guys I used to waitress. I tip well for good service. Today I tipped nothing. I should have gone somewhere else. We also had no silverware, no napkins until we asked for them after our meal arrived. Just basic things. The service made us feel unwanted.
Tldr: I guess everyone has an off day. I am very disappointed and probably won't go back for some time. Other people in there at the same time had much faster service. I cannot speak for the quality of that service or their food.
I ordered sweet tea which I swapped out to a Dr Pepper due to having a bad aftertaste. Pretzel with dipping sauce Brisket Frito Pie (Mr Salty)
I have absolutely had the Frito pie here before and it has alwaya been delicious. My brother had the Brisket Nachos which he said were good. Sister-in-law had a burger and sweet...
Read moreFirst of all I regularly eat at the Back Porch on Gore Blvd. I love the layout, staff, and environment. The food is good for the price and the selection of beer is great, especially on a monthly rotation. Now here is my concern. I just ate at the new Back Porch on Cache Rd. On the west side of Lawton. The hostess, who sets the first example, semmed very displeased to be at work. Her demeanor was neagtive throughout our entire time there and she never thanked us for dinning or coming by when I left with my family. My second concern is the staff that seemed to stand around idle while i dinned with my family. I understand at the hour I attended this establishment it was rather slow, yet i would prefer not to see staff standing around or sitting at booths on their phones. The food was good and my own waitress was extraordinary, yet I brought my other concerns to the immediate supervisor, who's name is Brittney. She argued at my complaints and attempted to make excuses for her staff's behavior. I asked her to sit across from me so we could discuss my concerns at an eye level and she hesitated with me, a customer, and refused at first. It is my belief that a customer isn't always right but should be heard to listen to and follow up on. My server was Selina and I praise her for doing a great job. Yet Brittney seemed to dismiss my concerns without a care. I would greatly appreciate feedback from the next higher level in the chain than Brittney. I will no longer dine at the establishment on Cache Rd. Also thank you for taking the time to read...
Read moreFood was decent. But… The atmosphere is uncomfortable. The music was so loud that we could barely carry on a conversation. The wait staff seemed uninterested in anything except filling and turning over tables. The pretzel is probably the most consistent thing they have on the menu. Chicken tenders were overcooked and dark brown meat on the edges. Popper Burger was overcooked and kids burger was done like a hockey puck. Barnyard burger was done right and was enjoyed. Anything fried mostly just tasted like the oil. I had the jalapeno popper burger, which I remember being good the last time I ate it (3 years ago), but it wasn’t nearly as good. Just tasted like a cream cheese burger. Plenty of bacon on the burger, which is good, but I had to rearrange it because it was two strips placed in an X over the patty and 1/2 of the strips were hanging out of the bun. Overall it seems like the quality of food and service has gone down quite a bit over time. Maybe the Gore Blvd location is still good as it’s the original location. I’d be willing to try it again, but with lower expectations. For a $13 average burger price, plus the experience and tip, it might be better to just get fast food until they can make the restaurant and experience...
