Great little spot.
We sat outside because we had the pup with us.
The customer service was fantastic from the moment we walked in. We were promptly greeted and we immediately asked if we could sit inside with the dog, the guy quickly checked and then politely told us no and that it was outside only with the pup.
So we sat outside and my only recommendation would have been umbrellas for some shade as you are directly in the sun.
We were again promptly greeted, our server was great, friendly and attentive during our meal.
We ordered guacamole with the free chips and salsa. The salsa was watery but chunky, different from what I'm used to, but good, tasty salsa. The Guacamole was so smooth it was buttery - and delicious!
Mom and I each order the 3 combo plate we each got a Chili Rellano, an enchilada. I also got a chicken chimichanga and my mom a pork burrito.
The chili Rellano was very good, my mom was talking about it the day after- as she really liked how they used a couple different cheeses in it, I also enjoyed it.
My enchilada was good but I’d rather the cheese be melted inside. Even after heating up my leftovers the next day the cheese didn’t melt kinda odd and definitely not my preference. The chimichanga was to be expected.
The rice has peas and carrots and was good, the beans were good as well.
We had plenty of leftovers each. We also ordered sopapillas and churros to go. I should have asked for them without the chocolate sauce. They were as expected otherwise.
Margarita was great! They have a massive (Large) size one too in case you’re super thirsty.
To our surprise we were treated to 2 shots of tequila! Gracias!
And one last thing… I do have a pet peeve about chipped plates/ glasses. And my plate had 2 decent size chips. Immediately knocking down a star on this review . I should have said something but didn’t because I feel like they should know, the cook should have known not to plate the food on a plate with not only 1 but 2 chips.

He brought out chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa was fantastic (with a bite). The salsa was one of the best I have had at a Mexican restaurant lately. We also tried the white queso and it did not disappoint (a little thin but delicious). Drink orders were filled promptly. In short, service was excellent at the restaurant. I ordered the Mexico Enchiladas. They are all shredded chicken with different sauces. It could have been better if the enchilada were a bit different. But they were good. It was a very generous portion and a lot of food. Another person has the carne asada burrito and they really liked it. A two enchilada platter is plenty of food for a normal appetite. At the end of dinner, the server brought out some tequila shots for the table with the check (compliments of the house). That is a tequila they make and only available at the restaurant. The consensus at the table was that it was one of the best tequila anyone had ever had. Multiple bottles of tequila were purchased by our party members. And yes, they filled the bottles for us from a barrel. All and all a fantastic dining experience at a reasonable cost. I would definitely eat...
Read moreI recently decided to give this place another try after having an awful experience several years ago. Our first visit, my mother found a cigarette butt in her food and made her extremely queasy thinking about it. The restaurants management gave a coupon for another meal but didn't even take the plate she had off the ticket after only taking two or three bites, my parents swore to never go again. My friends and I decided to give it another shot however and we were extremely disappointed. The food was rather bland and greasy once you were able to get all of the flies off of your plate, the margaritas were nothing but sticky sweet syrup and to chalk it all up we all left feeling rather nauseated. After having a very uncomfortable night running back and forth to the bathroom constantly and getting very little sleep due to it, I checked with my friends and they had the exact same experience, none of us ordered the same food and even had different proteins, yet we all found ourselves with food poisoning. To skip the graphic details about the experience, I would never recommend this place to anyone, I have lived in Leadville most of my life and can guarantee there are far superior Mexican restaurants. Please take my word of advice and DO...
