After searching for a good Italian spot in LC, a friend and I decided to try this place out. We were really excited to eat Italian. Walking into this place we had high hopes as the atmosphere was cute and dimly lit - we agreed this would be a cute date spot! Our waitress was VERY casual and not what I would expect from a pricey sit-down restaurant. I ordered fried calimari as the appetizer - when it came out I could tell it wasn't properly made just by looking at it. I wanted to give them a chance though so I took a bite. It was awful. Truly terrible, it was barely fried at all and the dipping sauce tasted like it came from a jar. I ordered the canelloni Daniella as my meal, which came with a ceasar salad. The salad tasted soggy and the dressing was definitely not house-made (and if it was, oooh boy). The meal looked decent and I had high hopes, but after taking just one bite I just couldn't bring myself to finish it. It tasted like something a college student who'd learning how to cook would try to make... Everything tasted processed like it was from a can or frozen. I really couldn't bring myself to even eat half of my meal.
On top of that, the waitress was inattentive once our food came. I could see her folding napkins and kept trying to get her attention that we were ready for the check, but she was too busy chatting with another waitress to look up from her work. I had to flag down the bus boy and when he told her we were ready for the check I could see her make a face of irritation.
After all this, my check was $34 for an appetizer, glass of wine, and one of the cheaper meals on their menu.
This place is definitely not worth their price. I wouldn't go back even if the bill total was $20. If I want to eat awful italian food I'll ask my siblings in college to...
Read moreWhere to start. My lady and I waited nearly 10 minutes before being acknowledged by the apologetic waitress. The complimentary bread that we were told was in the oven never arrived. My grilled Salmon and vegetables arrived lukewarm, slightly above room temperature. I will say had my meal arrived warm it would have been very enjoyable as the flavor was good. My lady's Chicken Piccata while oddly warmer than my dish, was very bland and void of the classic wine, lemon, buttery flavors that are the signature taste of Piccata. I asked for a glass of Chardonnay when my meal was served and it arrived as I was finishing my meal. The hair that accompanied the wine's glass was unacceptable and I had the waitress return it. The highlight of the evening was when we paid for the dinner the tip option started at 18% and not the standard 15% and generally that would not be a problem since both my lady and I will tip at the 20% rate for good service. Yes there is the other amount option available however my lady was paying and selected the 18% the problem was the computer system calculated the amount at $13.06, Now I have calculated this bill four different ways but I have yet been able to come up with a total of 13,06. My total based on the the bill minus the glass of wine should have been $11.38 I am not trying to be cheap or trivial, if I was I would have taken the gift card offered by the assistant manager. I am merely pointing out the inconsistency of the...
Read moreOne star because I could not do zero! For the second or third time we ordered online (trying to be COVID conscience) and waited for at least an hour and a half. This time we called at an hour and I got put on hold for 9 minutes, hung up and called back asking for a manager. When speaking with the manager, he kept saying he didn’t know why they did not get the fax (thinking in 2020 there are better ways than facing) for the order. Meanwhile, our credit card has already received the charge. What I didn’t appreciate is the fact that if your “spillover” (3rd party online ordering) fails this many times how it becomes the customers responsibilities to come up with a solution. I appreciate that we tipped at 20% and paid a delivery fee. Pomodoros has just lost a faithful customer who will now give all business to another local business - Ivettes! Should have ordered Ivettes to begin with but thought we would try again! Can’t wait to eat our food (spit and all) that had been reordered and still not here as of 7:35 (note the time of the original order of 5:29 pm)! As a local business with obviously vocal customers, I would hope the owner will re-evaluate his situation. I plan to be extremely vocal with my neighbors and friends! I have pictures of all texts, emails and credit card...
