UPDATE: Mr. Molina personally reached out to me to express his concerns over the experience my wife and I had at his restaurant. Because of his professional, courteous and timely response, I have updated my review from 1 Star to 4 Stars and we will be giving Red River another try in the future.
Where do I begin? I remember a time when this used to be good barbecue at an affordable price. I remember, when customer service meant something to them. Sadly, tonight, they failed miserably on all accounts. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time. However, being a League City restaurant, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. My wife and I called in to order two barbecue chopped beef baked potatoes and 2 small cokes.Usually really good. They immediately put me on hold then then picked up the phone and hung up. Yes, I know we could’ve ordered online, but with only two items we just wanted to call. I called back and said I think I may have been hung up on. she said yeah and please hold. Finally, she comes back takes my order and says it’ll be about 15 minutes. Sounds good. I get there, 15 minutes later and the young man who checked me out was not pleasant at all. Just said name? Sign here. Your food is not ready. No big deal. I get it, they were a little busy. I didn’t expect a conversation, but maybe hi what’s your name instead of just name. They had my food five minutes later. Cool. I said thanks and left. I drove five minutes home, and the food is cold. Not lukewarm, literally cold. That’s what did it for me. Curt, overpriced - 2 loaded potatoes and 2 small cokes are $36? Really? And then the food can’t stay warm for five minutes? Sorry, I just can’t. Sadly, it will be a long time...
Read moreOver the last year I have eaten here multiple times. The BBQ is the closest I have gotten to Salt Lick BBQ in Round Rock. Service is usually good, however today it went south! Made a togo order inside. The clerk must of been having a bad day and in return caused me to have one as well. I guess he expected me to know their rules of ordering togo. With out telling me a thing, he asks what vehicle I’m driving. He was very short with me. He told me to go wait in my vehicle. When the next young man came to my car and asked if I had a call-in or internet order. I said neither....I walked in to order. Left and about 10 mins later he came back with my order. I left and was about half way to my destination when I realized he didn’t give me my soda I had ordered and paid for. I had to turn around and go back. The young man who brought me my order was in the parking lot and I told him he didn’t put my soda with my order. He wouldn’t make eye contact with me, like he knew what he had done. I went to the same clerk and he was on the phone and did his best to ignore me. I saw what he was doing so I interrupted him and said I need my drink I had to come all the way back to get. Neither boy would question me about the service or apologize for the trouble. It was kinda like they knew what they had done and possibly did it on purpose. Red River owners better wake up and keep a watch on your employees. If this happened to me, I’m sure it has to others as well. Your lucky the food is good enough to come back, but due to the service I got this evening, I for one would be boycotting this place, along with others who read this review. I’ll...
Read moreI ordered a salad for curbside pickup. I was told to call when I arrived. I did and was put on hold for a long time, when the rude lady that works there picked up, I told her I was outside. She said she’d bring it to me. When I asked her for the total, so that I could have the proper amount ready for her, she wouldn’t give it to me and just rudely said she’d “tell me when she goes outside”. Fifteen minutes go by and nothing. I finally relent and go inside only to be met by the rude Mexican girl that works there (same one answering calls) and I didn’t say one word, had literally just walked out of my car and she annoyingly tells me with an attitude, “I didn’t come out here because your food wasn’t ready.” I literally hadn’t said ONE word to her. Then, she proceeds to walk in and tell her coworker “she’s all mad at me because her food wasn’t ready” and that’s when I’d had enough. I said “I never even said one word to you. When did I say I was mad? And I wasn’t, but now I am.” So rude and unprofessional, but she got real quiet when she realized I wasn’t standing for her unprofessional & unwarranted behavior. I asked for a manager & he didn’t seem very interested in helping. Just asked me if I wanted to make my own salad. This girl has no business working with the public being so rude to customers. I hope she was dealt with, as she should be. We will not be returning to this poorly managed establishment where this behavior is tolerated. Furthermore, the chicken in my salad tasted rubbery and hard and I wasn’t even given silverware, so had to drive all the way home...
