When it comes to an anniversary dinner we’re eating GOOD🙌🏽🙌🏽 we always start with our favorite wedge salad! This time we decided to split their A5 Wagyu and lobster Mac which was out of this world! 801 treated us to a chocolate soufflé to end the meal and it didn’t disappoint!#anniversary #dinnerdate #datenight #801chophouse #steakhouse #leawood #leawoodkansas #foryoupage #fyp #couples #wagyu #wagyubeef

Came here to celebrate my birthday as I heard alot of rave reviews and it was one of the few places I saw I could get some A5 Wagyu steak. First and foremost, the steak was fantastic. Staff recommended getting it medium done but I think next time I'd get it as rare as possible. Appetizer was the tuna tartare and that was fantastic. I expected it to be chewer but it was damn near melt in your mouth. Highly recommend. Salad was the compressed watermelon. Having never had a salad with watermelon, let alone pistachio, it was really good. Main course was 8oz of A5 Wagyu (this was $280 alone as it's $35 per oz ), some mushroom and broccoli. Overall it was a great but I do have some nitpicks. The way their steaks are done, there is a heavy char all over the meat. I imagine on a thicker cut this would be fine but on a more delicate cut like this, it loses alot of the flavor in the edges. Center where it was closer to rare was absolutely amazing and melt in your mouth. The real highlight, surprisingly was the broccoli. It was cooler to perfection with alot of crunch and flavor still in it. Lastly, they comp'd me a desert as I listed this was for my birthday. Had the chocolate souffle and it was alright. It was a little too rich for my tastes after having the wonderful steak and tuna tartare. Overall, I would go again but only if it was on someone else's dime. Expect to pay a minimum of $150 per person no matter what you get but it will be great.

My husband and I went to the Leawood location for our 20th wedding Anniversary. The email confirmation for the reservation said they offered valet parking - they did not. The restaurant was very nice. Loved the atmosphere and music (Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc.). The food was OK, but not great. The scallops were undercooked and the ribeye (which was $70) was overly-charred on the outside, especially the edges. The dessert was great, as was the staff. Considering the price though, we will probably not go back (Don't go unless you're prepared to spend $75 - $100/person). The quality of the food just doesn't justify the price. One other observation was that on the night we were there, the restaurant was very quiet, only about 5 other couples in the entire place; however, a group of 5 guys who had obviously spent too much time at the bar were seated only 2 tables away from ours. They were clearly intoxicated, loud and using profanity. Fortunately it was near the end of our meal, otherwise I would have given this a MUCH lower rating. Management and staff need to stay aware of situations like this and how it will impact future business. When you go to a restaurant like this you don't expect to have to tolerate that, especially when they could have been seated far away from other couples who are there for a nice quiet meal.

801 Chophouse – Where Great Food Meets Even Better People If you’re in Leawood and looking for a place that gets everything right — from food to feeling — 801 Chophouse is the spot. It’s classy but not stiff, elegant but still inviting. The moment you walk in, you know you’re in good hands. The bar is top-tier with a strong whiskey lineup, excellent cocktails, and wines for every taste. But the real standout? The people. This isn’t just a team — it’s a crew that clearly knows and likes each other. You get the sense they’ve worked together for years, sharing laughs, inside jokes, and probably a few post-shift stories. You can almost tell who’s dating who, who’s trying to eat healthy, and who hit snooze one too many times this morning — and that just makes it all feel real. The vibe here is genuine. It’s not polished to perfection — it’s better than that. It’s warm, natural, and comfortable in the best way. The kind of place where the service feels like chatting with a neighbor you actually like. As for the food? Thoughtfully prepared, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. Whether you’re going all-in on a steak or sticking to lighter options, the quality is top-notch. This is one of those rare spots where everything clicks — food, service, and energy. And yes, I’ll be back. Probably sooner than later.

O.M.G idk why it took so long for me to come here, but I absolutely loved ever moment of this experience. Robert to really good care of us which such good grace and very memorable personality ✨️ And I found Nick is the artist behind the talented Napkin folding (I would for you to teach how you do the tree folding) but down to the cuisines because this wasn't food baby. I had the most delicious oysters Rockefeller 😋 EVER. Nothing is compared to it, I swear I could 2 dozen easily but I had 6 I mean just perfect. Then they slap christmas joy in my mouth with their Steak tartar OMG heavenly delicious and to wash it down I had a beautiful yet elegant grapefruit cocktail that was like a ribbon bow tie on the appetizers. Just when you think your done I order the bone in prime rib medium well with hash the presentation was almost to beautiful to eat but the smell coming from makes you wanna eat it like a caveman lol. I definitely left with leftovers that was package nicely for me and husband we was celebrating 🍾 my birthday in which they out it one the menu for me I even got a happy birthday song from Robert..he was awesome definitely have make this my to go #1 spot

I would not recommend this location. I honestly dont know how it has as high of a rating as It does. The work staff think their better than anyone that walks through that door. They try to way over sell there food but let me tell you it's not worth the money. As you can see we got salmon a kansas city strip and two sides. Let's begin with the salmon it was overly cold tasted like it just got pulled from water had no flavor and was just not good at all had way better at lower chain restaurants. Now the steak I asked for a medium cook it came out rare and mooing still which is not what I asked for. Third the sides didnt even come with the meal they were an extra charge which is ridiculous for them being not that good and no flavor. There were only about 15 people in the dining area at one time and our waitress came over and apologized for the noise level and the time everything is taking to get. I feel sorry for the work staff and anyone that goes here and there actually packed be prepared you probably will never see your food. So I would not recommend the leawood location
