My husband and I went on a Friday night, about 7:30 p.m., an unplanned stop because another restaurant had a long wait. We're not from this area but wanted to try someplace we'd never been. There is a bar to sit at, a defined bar seating area (booths & tables) and a more family-oriented restaurant seating area. We were greeted promptly and chose to sit in the restaurant area. There were families as well as couples. Music was a good volume level, pretty much rock/pop. There are t.v.s everywhere with whatever sport you want to watch. Our server was friendly and helpful, service was very good. The menu had the typical bar/grill appetizers, side salads, a variety of burgers, including the Warrior Burger which seems to be their signature item. I saw seafood choices as well. There was a separate menu for beer, seemed like a good variety. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a side salad. I was apprehensive about the salad (not expecting it to be great, in a bar-type restaurant) but trying to add some measure of "healthy" to my meal! I was pleasantly surprised by a salad with green romaine lettuce, nothing wilted, fresh tomatoes and cucumber, croutons and a good tasting dressing. My burger was perfectly cooked and delicious! My husband ordered the Warrior Burger. It was huge. He could barely get his hands around the whole thing (two burger patties, fried pickles slices, onion, cheese, etc.) It too was delicious as were the sidewinder fries. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by our impromptu visit to Billie's Burgers & Beer. If we're out that way again, we'll know where to stop for...
Read morePlace doesn't look like much on the outside (or the inside). Layout walking in was a little confusing almost walked behind the bar. (Oops)
However, has a dedicated older crowd that gathers for beers. Making the atmosphere very chill and relaxing. Just the bartender was on duty for a place with a lot of floor space. Might want to call ahead for larger groups.
Also! Place was CLEAN, which I didnt expect for such a hole in the wall bar experience. Plenty of fans circulating the air conditioning around.
Food? I settled on the Crunch-Munch Burger. A well-seasoned patty with an onion ring topper. Wasn't bad for $13. Paired it with a draft beer and watched some horse racing.
Service was reasonable given only the bartender was on duty. She was very polite and checked on me just frequently enough to ensure my beer wasn't empty & my food was prepared to my liking.
Not sure how the place would stand up when its super busy!
But for a quick lunch stop during the week?
Id say its a bit underrated.

Read moreFirst time eating here and the food was subpar, not the best but not the worst. No prices on the menus and it seemed a little expensive for what it was. The BIGGEST issues was they changed my tip on the credit card. The bill for my husband and I was $30.86 and I left a $6 tip. I was checking my bank statement and my charge from the restaurant is $40.86. It's not about the money its about being honest and not stealing from people. I will also be calling and speaking to management about this but i felt as a review was needed so people are aware of the practices they allow. If you are going to eat hear I would recommend paying your bill in cash and leaving a tip if deserved in cash. Although our waitress was nice she served two separate tables that came in after we did before she even...
