Hi My name is Joy Taylor. I recently wanted pasta so where else would I go but to Demos. My stepdaughter and I stopped in Saturday for a late lunch early dinner meal. I ordered Monica a child’s meal (grilled cheese sandwich) and I ordered my spaghetti. I order from the kids menu for Monica at every restaurant we eat at. Monica is disabled and one of her little quirts is she will only nibble in a restaurant. When my family shares a holiday meal I take her food home. I order based on what she will eat and still take most of it home. The waiter explained they would not serve a kids meal to an adult. I stood and started gathering my things - I was not going to eat where a disabled person is not welcome and no accommodation is made for them. . A manager walked over(probably because I was standing) and asked if there was a problem. I said no I was leaving and she said let me get the GM. Now I’m upset, I just want to leave. The GM approaches me, puts her hand on her hip and says what can I do for you. I explained I was trying to order my little girl a grilled cheese. She looked at my child and says, “just how old is your “little girl”. Little girl is sarcastic like she has caught me on a lie or something. She said there was an adult grilled cheese on the menu and she would make that. If there is an adult grilled cheese on the menu I couldn’t find it so I’m pretty sure that was untrue. Now I’m really upset. The GMs attitude towards us Is one of indifference at best. I know I got loud but I was telling my neighbors how Demos was refusing service to a disabled person. She asked us to leave and I did ask her if that was how she wanted this to play out, by her refusing service to a disabled person. There was a very nice man. (A customer )who came over talking to me trying to deescalate the situation. He asked me to sit and eat. I did because Monica was hungry. I am sorry I stayed. All I could do was sit and cry because I felt Monica and I had been so disrespected and I was ashamed of letting it bother me so. At first I didnt know if the GM was undertrained in deescalating a situation or if it was just bad policy. I don’t know. What I do know is it will be a long time before the food is not...
Read moreThe server was excellent today. However, I don't want to put his name in this comment so that the negative rating does not affect him. As for the manager, not that good. 5 stars for the server, 2 stars for mgmt. Each time I have been in there in the past few months, the utensils came with dried old food on them. I repeatedly, typically 3 times, have to ask for clean utensils. By the third round, and long wait times, I'll get clean utensils. Additionally, they charged extra for gluten-free noodles but I was not informed about it until I received the bill. The price of the menu item already includes noodles, so there should not be an extra charge for gluten-free since I'm not receiving the regular noodles that I'm already charged for. If there is an upcharge, today at 21%, and there should never be one, then they should inform the customer ahead of time, not as a surprise on the bill. The added frustration is that usually, except today, the salad comes on a small plate that is only half-full and thinly spread-out. They really cheap-out on the lettuce that comes with the meal. After spending too much time dealing with these issues of today and in the past, the manager came over and did offer a free dessert. Since I don't eat sugar I passed on that offer but asked for a cup of soup instead, and got it to-go. To my surprise, the soup came in a very tiny container (2 inches x 2 inches, approx.) that is similar to what condiments such as mustard or mayonnaise comes in when ordering food to-go, instead of what the usual cup of soup comes in. Playing that kind of game was the last straw. They have lost a customer. They've been given so many opportunities to right the wrongs, but...
Read moreI can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am. This is literally my favorite restaurant but our last visit here was terrible. We had multiple people waiting on us. Our main waiter kept disappearing Or just paying attention to one of his tables. It took us a long time to get our appetizer then the random waitress that gave us that appetizer. I asked her for ranch did not get it. She disappeared. Still hadn’t received our salad or bread. Our waiter finally came by and asked if we didn’t like the meatballs because we weren’t eating them, I just made the point that I was just waiting for our salads and bread because I liked eating the meatballs with the bread and with the ranch as crazy as that is. He finally brought us our salad and bread after a little while. When we finally were brought our food By different waitress. It was subpar. The seafood potato that I ate was not what I was expecting, and it just wasn’t good overall. It had pico de gallo on it with mushrooms, bad combination honestly. But it was my fault for honestly not fully reading the description. I just saw shrimp and crab and Alfredo sauce. We got finished eating our waiter disappeared again. Finally showed back up. I politely ask him what kind of desserts and he seemed Less enthused about me asking that. I ordered something and we waited some more finally got what I ordered Then we waited for the check to finally show up. We were in there for over an hour and that has never happened and this experience is the very first bad experience I have ever had at this location. Unbelievably disappointing. And I still don’t understand why it was taking so long and why we just pretty much...
