I wanted to LOVE this local coffee shop. We come to Lebanon once or twice a year, and I make it a point to stop here because the shop itself is so calm, aesthetic and modern. We also shop their gift shop, as well as get a few pastries and coffee. I wanted to try something new today (black coffee with a mix of sweeteners), and unfortunately I really didn’t like the taste of it and couldn’t manage to take more than one sip. I figured since I already paid and it was just black coffee with sweetener, that it could be dumped and just refilled with the regular black coffee and nothing else. Well, I had to pay all over again for said black coffee. I felt that wasn’t a good business practice. I’m usually not picky at all and I was pleasant with the barista as I am with everyone. I even tipped her. But I was really put off by having to pay all over again for a simple black coffee. I understand paying for product, I’m all for supporting small local businesses too. But that coffee would have had to been dumped and replaced every 30 min anyway. I wasn’t looking for a “freebie” at all — I simply couldn’t choke down the sweetener and just asked for it to be a regular black coffee instead. Sorry if I am wrong, but I just have never experienced nor anticipated something like this happening. Not asking for anything to happen as a result, just sharing that I am a little hurt by this practice or policy and maybe it could be considered or training could be done about it in the future if the owners find it necessary. Otherwise this is such a lovely coffee shop. I also wanted to mention that the black coffee did not taste that great unfortunately and was mediocre at best — I am sorry! It’s hard to please everyone and I’m typically not critical at all. I’m just disappointed in the experience and taste of what we purchased today. I also wish the pastry waffles we ordered could have had the offer of being warmed, which I thought would happen as well. So, I hope my review can be helpful for future...
Read moreThe coffee itself is was good, however the experience was bad. The girl who works there was cold and unfriendly. My daughter and I had been shopping next door at Burlap and Birch and my husband went into the coffee shop, ordered a coffee, and used the restroom. After my husband had gone to the car, my daughter and I went in to the coffee shop to order our drinks. The girl behind the counter seemed very annoyed that we had come in. I asked if they were about to close and she said no, but they might close early. There were people upstairs working on their computers, so it wasn't that close to closing time. While we waited for our coffee, we asked her if there was a restroom she said it was out of order. When we asked what happened, she said because the cold weather made it out of order. We are not sure why she lied to us, but we bought our coffee, and left feeling very unwelcomed and with a bad taste towards the coffee shop. My husband later told me that he also thought she was very cold and was planning to buy a bag of coffee but she was on her phone so much he could not get her attention. Also, the restroom was not out of order- he had used it. Costumer service is an important part of the coffee experience, if you are looking for a warm and welcoming coffee shop this is not where I...
Read moreFirst, if you've never been to Lebanon, OH on a weekend when the weather is nice you need to do so. Tons of shops and small cafe' to keep you entertained. Lot No. 1 Coffee is a location I have visited in the past and continue to visit time and time again.
The location is across the street from free parking but the parking lot can get full at time. If so, just try the parking lot below the library.
The entrance is well marked and the coffee house has plenty to select from in terms of merchandise, baked goods and of course coffee/lattes.
The prices are reasonable and basically can make anything that you want.
This visit was particular nice since it was the first time since the pandemic hit. The location was super clean and all parties inside were mindful of wearing a mask and keeping a good distance. The Barista was awesome. She was pleasant and immediately asked what I wanted when it was my turn. I threw her curve-ball in my order and she appeared to have no issues with changing things up.
She promptly made the order and passed it over.
The London-Fog was awesome.
Please check this establishment out when visiting if you are a coffee...
