Tonight was by far the worst experience we have had at any Whataburger location anywhere.
Upon arrival, we had to order at the kiosk, due to no one being at or near the lobby or front counter. After paying with a card (couldn't use cash like we wanted, as there was no one to hand it to), the kiosk spit out a blank white receipt strip. While ordering, my wife wound up having to reach behind the counter to get the table tents for ourselves and an elderly couple while I walked the couple through using the kiosk.
My wife and the elderly lady stood at the counter to speak with someone about our receipt, and the lady needing tea as the lobby container was empty, for approximately 5 minutes while the manager walked past ignoring them.
Several people came in and were waiting for various reasons when we decided to request a refund and eat elsewhere. After finally getting the manager to stop and talk to us, she was surprised to see the blank receipt until a crew member told her the paper had been put in backwards and no one changed it.
As the manager tried to figure out how to refund the meal, our food came out and we decided to just eat our food and leave. Her Honey Butter chicken was barely hot and my burger was room temperature, but hey, the fries were hot.
Insult to injury in the fact the bench and table were sticky, several tables were in need of cleaning, and all of the trash cans were overflowing, with bits if trash in the floor.
We get it, it's after midnight on a Friday, and we realize the corporate push is likely to depersonalize the dining experience as much as possible, prioritize profit, and provide as little as possible to the paying customer, but a little customer service and a bit of cleanliness goes a long way.
We've always been huge Whataburger fans, but many more experiences like this and we will just to McDonald's. At least there we expect to be...
   Read moreI haven't even tried the food yet because I've been waiting for them to bring it ... Upon my FIRST experience, I am not impressed. The cashier was extremely rude! She said things like, "What's the name?" And "what do you want?"... Never have I EVER been treated so rudely by a customer service representative. I get to the window they can't find my order... So they finally locate it and they ask me to pull over and wait....it's been easily 10 minutes and I still don't have my order.
Update I finally got my food after flagging down an employee. As soon as the order arrived I requested the manager. He came out and he was very nice. He refunded my meal. He gave me coupons if we ever come back and said he would address my concerns immediately. I appreciated him.
The order was wrong. I ordered a burger with Monterey jack cheese lettuce pickles and mayo
I got a burger smothered in mustard and American cheese.
The food is mediocre at best. The burger was bland. The fries were soggy. The whatasauce is not good, like a sweet onion based sauce. Just very odd.
Today was NOT a good experience
Update: against my better judgement we tried again with the promos given to us. Once again we had to wait... Because the order wasn't done. Then they bring out the wrong order...so the manager comes out and didn't understand that I didn't want the same meal I had yesterday. I explained that I had 2 free meal promos....I had placed the order under my name and I had two different meals. We finally got our food. We tried again and again was extremely disappointed.    Read moreThis was 2:15 PM on a Tuesday afternoon. There was one vehicle in line in front of us, and none behind us. When placing our order, before I could tell the cashier the next item, they were saying "is that all?" They were not getting it right, and I was having to make corrections, then, the same thing, is that all? Finally got the order for three meals placed. Nothing unusual. Then, we had to wait at least 20 minutes before we got our order. We pulled around to park and eat. Both burgers were marked the same, so both had to be opened to see which was which. Mine was wrong, I ordered that it have NO tomatoes (I DESPISE tomatoes on sandwiches!!!) but there were 3 thick slices on mine!, and lettuce and pickles be added. NO pickles were present, but there was lettuce. Also, sauce everywhere on the inside of the wrapper. Slippery mess. Other burger was correct. Salad had NO dressing, which WAS ordered, and no utensils, or anything else. I had to go in and ask for these. No one behind the counter. But, a guy we had seen outside taking orders in the outside lane, was standing behind the soda dispenser and even though he obviously saw me and I said something to him, he pointedly ignored me.
