Where do I begin the last time I ever went there I think it was about 16 or 17 years ago and if I never go back it will be too soon. Couldn't get a seat at David Burke's so I decided I'll just swing by there since they've recently remodeled I guess it was about a year or so ago they opened up it looks very nice. I was seated right away probably a bad sign on a Saturday night at a casino normally when you're really busy you need reservations or there's a line but I got right on in so okay let's see how it goes. I waited about 15 minutes waiter comes by every other word out of his mouth is okay boss okay boss okay boss. If I was his boss I would have fired him a long time ago. I ordered green tea a steam spring roll bok choy with spicy garlic and chicken mix vegetable.. pretty standard for an Asian restaurant. The waiter says no have green tea.. I've never seen an Asian restaurant not have green tea, that would be like a casino saying we ran out of alcohol. So he says dragon tea good I'm like all right fine. Green tea four bucks no have dragon tea 10 box whatever. About 5 minutes later one server comes out and sets a plate down with deep fried spring rolls , well that's wrong. There's supposed to be steamed right behind him is another waiter with the dinner bok choy supposed to have spicy garlic it's basically in a broth of water looks like they just dumped the bok choy with the water that it was steaming in right onto the bowl. Well that's wrong.. within 30 seconds there's a doggie bag brought to me, and the check is also put on the table. I guess they're not accustomed to customers ordering additional things like dessert. So the waiter never comes back, the deep fried spring rolls are wrong because I ordered them steamed.. the tea is it a little brown pot I pour it into the cup I'm like this must be the weakest tea in the world that looks like water I open up the top of the pot there's nothing in it just water there's nothing steeping inside. They gave me a pot of hot water. So the spring rolls were supposed to be steamed and they are deep-fried the tea it's hot water I guess they think I'm stupid. The bok choy supposed to be in a spicy garlic sauce, it's just floating in a bath of water. So three of the four items ordered are wrong. You expect me to pay 10 bucks for a pot of hot water there's nothing inside of it, you expect me to pay $14 for the bok choy when it's floating in water not spicy garlic sauce. And you expect me to spend $16 for the spring rolls that I ordered steamed and you deep fry them. Since the waiter never came back to me I adjusted the bill accordingly.. I took the food that I wasn't going to eat, I tossed it into the doggie bag and when I got home I threw it on to the lawn because every night I have coyotes foxes and possums they come by looking for table scraps so tonight they're getting the garbage from this restaurant. Bottom line is don't go there. The chicken and mixed vegetable was decent. Everything else that I ordered was wrong. Again don't go there I can't imagine having a worse experience it's a complete waste of money. I'd rather quite frankly spend an evening dumpster diving for food then go back to that place and that's probably why I went there one time like 17 years ago and I never went back. And like I said if I ever go back it's too soon so stay away from this place. Go to Red Lantern the food is 10 times better.. and like I said since this person kept calling me okay boss okay boss you know what...
ย ย ย Read moreI am sad to write a poor review of this place because I have been dying to come here for years. We ordered scallion pancakes for an appetizer, tonkatsu ramen, and Peking duck. For drinks we ordered the plum wine and a Mai tai.
The tonkatsu ramen came out the same time as the scallion pancakes which I found to be odd because my friend did not receive their Peking duck at the same time.
The scallion pancakes were good. The plum wine was very good, the mai tai was a huge thumbs down.
The Peking duck was not worth the price of what was received. It was a very small portion and looked to be the 1/3 size duck that was available as an appetizer and not the 1/2 duck for $79. My friend said it was good but did not come with the normal fixings or sides that my friend has received at other places, my friend also stated this was the most he has paid for Peking duck and it was not even close to the size of the duck he has gotten at other places.
The ramen I was very disappointed in. It was just unseasoned clear chicken broth and not the normal creamy broth you receive at other ramen places. My ramen only had pieces of pork belly (which were flavorless and hard to chew), noodles, and a couple of scallions. I asked the waitress where the other toppings were and that is when she advised me they were out. If she had told me about that when I ordered I would not have ordered the ramen. The ramen was very bland and usually I can eat a meal I donโt enjoy but I couldnโt even eat this.
I was hoping the waitress would come back around so I could advise her I did not like my meal so I could order another meal, but the only time she came back was to drop off the check and quickly walk away. My friend paid and we didnโt confront about the meal I didnโt enjoy. Overall Iโm very upset with this experience because Iโve waited forever to come here...

The girls should be trained on how to handle a crowd. I can only hope this place stays open as they turned away five people who wanted take out. They could have taken the orders and just told the people an approximate wait time. It was sad to see money walk out of the door. After 30 minutes, we were finally seated. I was impressed when the young lady did apologize for the chaos and the long wait.
Now on to the positive. This food was ๐ฏ. The drinks and food were served in a timely manner. Everything we ordered was hot and well prepared. We had the salt and pepper wings which were seasoned to perfection; the wonton soup served in a huge bowl was good; the pork chops were to die for; the sweet and sour chicken was well prepared; and the house fried rice was very food. It could have had a little more flavor to it. Our waiter, Mengwen M, was very attentive often coming back a few times to make sure we were okay.
Despite the long and chaotic wait, I would give this place a 9 out of 10. The well prepared food definitely saved the day.
I can't wait to return back to Foxwoods to revisit this restaurant. I can only hope the front desk would be...
