I like to try new cuisines all the time, and decided to give this spot a chance. The location is not the most convenient, and difficult to find if you’re not familiar with the place. Luckily, I was able to find a parking spot a couple blocks away and walked over to the restaurant to pick-up my to-go order.
I drove back home and stopped along the way to get a drink. Excitedly opened up my 3 containers of food & sides. I ordered a bandeja paisa, empanadas and a cheese arepa.
The smaller containers had my sides and as soon as I opened the bigger container, my excitement turned into disappointment. The avocado was completely rotten! It amazes me how they decided to include it in my order seeing how disgusting it looked. I quickly threw it away, and tried the rest of the food. I was unimpressed with the freshness and taste altogether. I mainly ate the plantain and pork. I decided to try the empanadas, and once again unimpressive. They were pretty dry and I managed to eat one out of 3 I ordered! I tried the cheese arepa last and I wish that was the only item I ordered. Although a staple of Colombian culture, it’s quite basic but it had a sweet cheesy flavor which I enjoyed.
Overall, the experience was quite disappointing, and I don’t intend on returning. It was my intention to support my Latin community but I was highly unimpressed for...
Read moreI drove for an hour and fifteen minutes from my house to this site. I wanted to try something different Colombian. When I arrived, I was greeted with great joy and a friendly attitude. I started by ordering two pastelitos de bocadillo y arequipe, they were extremely delicious, the one who served me, made sure that the pastelito were fresh and hot for me. I loved them so much that I ordered 15 more units to take home, they are the best pastelitos I have ever eaten in my life, even better than those from Colombia.
I also brought a trensa cheese bread, that cheese bread did not seat 5 minutes at home, we ate it right away, it was very delicious. To eat inside the restaurant, I ordered a bandeja paisa, the bandeja paisa tray was very large and delicious, the ground meat was prepared as an original bandeja paisa tray should be, the chicharron was fresh and perfect to eat without damaging the teeth.
Overall I love this place, the prices are favorable and the food is delicious. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, the service is excellent and the place gives you a good vibe to spend time with...
Read moreStopped into Chefscape for a pre-movie dinner. Colombian’s Place is really excellent food! Husband and son both had the Bandeja Paisa. They are foodies, and couldn’t stop raving about how good it was. Portions were huge and beautifully presented in a wooden plater. I am not a foodie but I am picky. I had the CP salad and the cheese arepa. Both were delicious. The chicken seasoning and house dressing for the salad were amazing. The cheese arepa was light and yummy. The (I assume) owner came over not once but a few times to check on us and tell us about the food. It was obvious he really, really cared about our experience and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. It is so rare to see that these days and it made a great experience over the top excellent. Add to the fact there was also good music playing at the venue, all made for the perfect chill, delicious Friday dinner! Will...
