Horrible experience.
I returned fabric that I had changed my mind about (am re-doing a chair). I bought the fabric from a different location but as I'm trying to save on gas and also be more green, I decided to wait to return at this location since I had business to take care of in the area.
The return was easy but then as I was walking to my car, the supervisor ran into the parking lot chasing after me. Arms flailing and all. She told me I needed to come back into the store. She said the girl who did my return was new and didn't know I was supposed to have the fabric measured first before she returned it. I didn't know this process either because I've never returned fabric before and I'm not an employee. The supervisor made me show her my receipt and gave me the fabric back. She told me to go to the fabric section to have it measured. The fabric lady would sign off on the receipt, then I was to come back to the front and show the supervisor that it was all there. When I got back to the fabric section, I told the lady that the fabric had been cut vertically by the fabric girl at the other location. I told her that I had asked for the fabric to be cut in half. While she cut the fabric, I turned to look at the wall decor that was on sale (bc I'm addicted to this store). When I turned back around, I realized the girl was cutting the fabric vertically but I had meant horizontally. I had her stop suddenly. She apologized and asked if I still wanted it. I said yes because it was the last of that fabric available and she hadn't cut it all the way down the middle (only half way), so I still had plenty to work with. I also told her it was nothing to apologize for because I should have been clearer with what kind of cut I wanted. Well, when I told the fabric lady the story behind the cut, she eyed me suspiciously and said she was going to have to call the supervisor. I assured her that I had made zero cuts to the fabric. She told me that I might have to return this at the original location (an hour away). Another supervisor happened to be nearby so she came and I explained it to her. She said oh well it's not like we can do anything at this point because you've already been refunded. She signed off on the receipt and I walked back to the front to show the supervisor. When I got to the front, she was on the phone talking with them about the cut. I showed her my receipt and she nodded. I left out of there feeling so embarrassed. All the red tape and back and forth and trying to convince them that I hadn't done anything was a lot to deal with. My face was so flushed by the time I got to my car. I did not appreciate being chased after and interrogated. They all made me feel like I was being dishonest or trying to get away with something. If I was the supervisor, I would have never ran after a customer like that. I would have explained the policy to the new hire and chalked it up as a learning experience and possible loss (even though this wasn't a loss). To chase after me like that and make me prove to 3 staff members that I wasn't lying made me feel so humiliated. Oh and I have a tiny feeling that the color of my skin did not help matters at all. I have no plans to ever come to this...
Read moreI rarely take the time to Write an actual review, so let's start there. When initially entering into the store, the dark-haired girl manning the very first register in the returns/exchange section was not only busy servicing customers but as one woman came in behind me and mistakenly headed towards the dirty unsanitized carts, the associate had enough awareness to quickly holler (nicely) and stop her to ensure she knew exactly where the clean and sanitized carts were directly ahead of her. My friend was doing a return and did not have the receipt nor the credit card on her in which she had originally purchased the item, I laughed at her and told her basically she was SOL and there was no way they would take it back, I was wrong, she got full store credit!! As we went to check out, the gift card/store credit from our return would not swipe. This time we were over in the regular registers and a lighter haired young lady was taking care of us, she was very polite and apologetic for the inconvenience about the card and promptly called a manager over to assist, when the manager was also having trouble, he too was quick to call in assistance from his higher up. I was pleasantly surprised at everyone's willingness to go above and beyond to ensure safe, satisfied, and happy customers. Having to wait due to the gift card not swiping ended up providing us more joy in the end because we were able to see how much this store cares and how well it's management trains their employees to not only sell, but also to have compassion, common sense, and kindness overall. Overall we were serviced wonderfully by over 5 employees (including also the kind lady in fabrics who directed us to both the potty and jewelry hangers) ...while i do love a hobby lobby, this review is more about the people, This particular business and how well they treat their customers. Amazing...
Read moreI keep going back to Hobby Lobby because it’s hard to beat the selection they offer for crafts, home decor, and seasonal items. Whether I’m working on a DIY project, looking for unique wall art, or just browsing for inspiration, I usually find something that catches my eye. The store is always packed with options—everything from fabrics and paints to faux florals and furniture—and it’s easy to get lost wandering the aisles. That said, I’ve learned not to buy anything at full price because they rotate sales constantly, and it’s almost always worth waiting a week for a discount. I do miss their old 40% off coupon, and it’s frustrating that they don’t price match or accept competitor coupons. In terms of layout, most of the locations I’ve been to are pretty well-organized and clean, though it can get crowded and chaotic during the holidays. The customer service is hit or miss—sometimes I get someone super helpful, but other times it feels like the staff is overwhelmed or just not that interested. Checking out can be slow, especially if there are only a couple registers open. I’ve never had issues returning items as long as I have the receipt, but the process isn’t exactly warm or welcoming either. I’m also aware of the company’s strong religious stance and the controversies surrounding some of their policies, which might be a dealbreaker for some people. Personally, I shop there for the products, not the politics, but I think it’s important to know where your money’s going. All in all, I find Hobby Lobby a fun and useful place to shop for creative projects, but I go in knowing I need patience, timing, and maybe a little tolerance for the...
