I recently had the opportunity to visit a supposedly authentic Mexican restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with an underwhelming ambiance that lacked the vibrant and inviting atmosphere commonly associated with Mexican dining establishments.
The service was incredibly slow and inattentive. It took an excessive amount of time for the staff to acknowledge our presence, let alone take our orders. When our food finally arrived, it was clear that the kitchen staff had little regard for quality or presentation. The dishes were haphazardly prepared and lacked the traditional flavors and spices one would expect from a Mexican restaurant. It was as if the authenticity of the cuisine had been completely overlooked.
Moreover, the portion sizes were disappointingly small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and hungry after spending a significant amount of money. The prices were exorbitant considering the lackluster quality of the food and the overall subpar dining experience. It seemed as though the restaurant was attempting to capitalize on the popularity of Mexican cuisine without putting in the effort to deliver a truly authentic and enjoyable meal.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was poorly maintained. The cleanliness of the dining area and restrooms was questionable, with visible signs of neglect and a general lack of attention to hygiene. This only added to my growing disappointment and left a lasting negative impression.
Overall, my visit to this Mexican restaurant was a regrettable experience. From the lackluster ambiance and slow service to the mediocre and overpriced food, it fell short in almost every aspect. I would strongly advise seeking out other authentic Mexican establishments in the area instead of wasting your time and money at this...
Read moreJust fine!! The restaurant hadnt changed much. It lacks much of an ambiance! The mexican music was barely audible! They have chips and salsa for you before you eat which is pretty normal and nothing special. We were brought out two fairly bland saucers of salsa so i asked for a hot salsa and was brought out a green salsa that was OK but still lacked a punch so we ordered the queso dip which wasnt bad and came in a shell that was edible. Now i wish all there chips were like the shell the queso came in. I ordered the cajun burrito hoping for something good and spicy with shredded chicken and got one with hamburger meat instead. I brought this to our waitresses attention and she was really good about it. I told her that i would just eat the hamburger burrito but half way through the meal she brought me out the shredded chicken burrito and was not charged for it. That was nice. You would think being called a cajun burrito youd think spicy but neither of them were at all. I did box up the shredded chicken burrito to take home. The rice was dry and the mushed beans were very uninspired! The other 2 meals we ordered were the tamales and also the $23.00 steak meal and they were bland as well. The steak looked like about a quarter inch at best piece of maybe strip steak and both those meals came with the same rice & beans. The 3 for 1 different flavored margaritas were good. My wife really liked her mango flavor my strawberry was ok the just plain original was the real favorite. I would say the food was pretty bland no real flavors or spicyness and this is a mexican restaurant!! Of the meals we ordered nothing stood out as...
Read moreI’m going to keep this as short and polite as I can. September 23 2025, came to la Palma for lunch for a work meeting. My coworker and I ordered 4 tacos a piece. 2 chicken; 2 beef. First bite out of his chicken taco he started choking and pulled out a 2 inch long chicken bone from his throat.
When the waitress came to us we showed her the chicken bone and asked for no chicken tacos. She then preceded to ask me why I would not eat the chicken tacos. Respectfully I replied they came from the same pan so I don’t want to take a chance. She then asked if I had picked through them. No I dont want to pick through my tacos to look and see if there are bones in them. So she then asked me if they could take the tacos to the back and they pick threw them for me.
They can’t be serious, but that’s exactly what la palma did.
I asked for a manager. We told her what was going on and she just brought out two more chicken tacos.
Just disgusted with this place from start to finish and as a small business owner myself I do hope this catches the right persons eyes and they make some changes because I can’t imagine la Palma will remain open if this is what they believe to be hospitality. Truly a...
