My family was in town and we decided to stop in Leesburg for lunch before heading to Lucketts to browse and do some shopping. The day was warm and usually Bites is my go too but wanted to try something different. We were a party of 4 and were sat to the room to the right of the hostess stand. “The forgotten room” as we joked with our neighboring guests who seemed to have been sitting for 10-15 min prior to our arrival. Our server greeted us to tell us she would bring water and the menu can be scanned. Upon browsing the menu we could not find the beverages. Coffee menu check, cocktail menu check but asked for the non-alcoholic menu such as iced tea, lemonade etc. the server wasn’t sure if that was apart of the menu and confused with what drinks we were looking for. My sister in law suggested iced tea or sprite etc. and confirmed iced tea and coke products. We browsed they menu while waiting for our Shirley temple and iced tea and had decided on our food order when she had returned. We asked to start with calamari and ordered 3 salads and a Ruben sandwich. Our calamari arrived provided by another server. No plates — just the calamari. Mind you it was phenomenal. Our empty dish sat in the middle for 20 minutes, no one to check on us to make sure the appetizer was to our liking. Another server c as me over with a pitcher to fill our water cups. I asked if she could take our empty appetizer plates and my sister in law asked for an iced tea refill. — forgotten. We asked a passing server 10 min later for an iced tea refill. It was brought. We used the restroom. No toilet paper and my mother in law reported that it was filthy. She told an employee that there was no toilet paper. Meanwhile waiting, I presume the kitchen was preparing chicken and the pounding on the other side of the wall gave us something to listen to during our wait. My mother in law checks with the hostess to see where our lunch is after patiently waiting sixty minutes and the time being close to 2:15 in the afternoon with few tables. A server ‘Acting as manager?’ approached our table apologizing that our ticket was lost and coming out now. 10 minutes later, or lunch was served by staffed servers auctioning off our food. Manager server apologized again and reported that our bill would be taken care of.
The other table beside us didn’t seem shocked and said they had waited a very long time. Had 10 empty glasses for a party of 4 and an infant stacked on the table.
Or missing server finally returned after being MIA for an hour and asked us how our food was. The food was fantastic.
I went to use the restroom on the way out— no toilet paper. My mother in law also used — no toilet paper. And that was our...

Read moreFOOD: Went here for Sunday morning brunch. I got the eggs Benedict- so so amazing. Hubs got the Farmers breakfast- eggs, potato, toast (pretty standard flavor, not much to knock out of the park there). Last but not least we got the cinnamon roll and it was THE BEST cinnamon roll we had ever had. So good.
SERVICE: was pretty poor. We were the first to sit outdoors (we made sure they knew we were sitting out there) and it took 10 minutes to be acknowledged by our waiter (haha yes I tracked the time). Everything from there took forever (getting water, getting served black coffee, order being taken, and order served). The only thing quick about the process was getting our check and cashing out. I saw two tables being served their food and they didn’t have silverware. It took them a good few minutes to realize it and get it passed out. Something needs to be changed about their process. Also I’m pretty sure it was one poor kid waiting on the entire place. Unfortunately, the poor service is something I’ve heard from multiple people and I don’t think it was just my one time experience. The people are nice but I guess they are short staffed.
AMBIENCE: This is hands down the cutest and trendiest decorated place in Leesburg and for much of Loudoun county. The place is so cute and is refreshing from the drab decor that is around Leesburg. They will be opening a coffee shop soon and that will be so great to have Loudoun’s very first non-hideous coffee shop (ha!). Hopefully the coffee will impress as much as the...
