When we walked in there was no one from the business to greet us. We had to be told by other patrons what to do. When our game master came out she came across as rude and dismissive. Once we started the escape room, every time we asked for a clue she had to ask us what we needed help with, to repeat ourselves multiple times, or on one occasion, she didn’t respond for several minutes. It seemed like the person we were asking for help had no idea what was happening, was frustrated to interact with us, and it wasted a lot of time and made the experience uncomfortable. The room was extremely stuffy and small for a group of 6 people; I’m not sure how 8 would fit. We have been to many other escape rooms and this was the only experience where we didn’t have a timer the whole time. Our game master just told us to ask for a time check but as I said, she was less than helpful (and seemed annoyed to answer us anytime we asked) so we did not ask for a time update. At the end we were nearly finished with the last stage of the room and she cut us off to tell us our time was up. After all of the wasted time with her confusion, it felt like she could’ve given us 2 minutes to finish up, but this was just a good example of her overall demeanor and lack of interest in being personable or helpful. I would never come here again as it was not an enjoyable experience. The six of us do a lot of escape rooms and two of our group members were so turned off by the staff member that they stopped participating. I have a lot of patience and tried to be very friendly, but I felt like I had wasted my money at the end of the experience. While it was still fun, the room had a lot of problems. A lot of time was wasted because parts of the room were broken
First, one of the keys did not work and the lock kept spinning. Time was wasted on that after help was asked
Second, the A1B1 puzzle just wasn’t working. Again, after struggling with it for long enough and asking for help, the moderators just “unlocked” that puzzle.
And yet another problem- we were missing a clue- in this case an egg- and after spending almost 15 minutes (I kid you not!) then the door opens and a missing egg is thrown into the room. It was very frustrating.
A lot of money was spent and yes, we had guests visiting so we made sure to have fun, but we’ve done escape rooms before and never have they been this poorly maintained.
As a parent of small kids i would say it is not worth it if you are considering this as a first time escape room. You spent a lot of time figuring out what is even a necessary puzzle let alone figuring out the answers to puzzles- to have moderators not on stand by noticing something or broken (or worse- they watch and say nothing) is pretty much as...
Read moreNot the best escape room experience we have had. My husband and I have been doing escape rooms for many years and have quite a variety under our belts. This was not an enjoyable 45 minutes.
We did the Halloween Town room in 2022. None of the puzzles or codes in this room led to one another; there was no flow whatsoever. The room consisted of a series of completely separate, disjointed puzzles/codes. Rooms with stories, flow, and connectivity are far better. Additionally, the puzzles/codes were weird. That's not a great descriptor but I'm struggling to find something that fits. Usually codes require intelligent thought or noticing a pattern and normally, when it's a pattern, it can be found based on clues within the room. Not here. You had to somehow just know how to group things. It was quite odd. In theory, this should have been easy but it's like you had to understand the creator to get anywhere. Which obviously doesn't lead to a great game because there is no way to know the creator.
Overall, we won't be back to this escape room company as adults. Maybe it's better in the...
