This is my favorite indie bookstore in my area! They have a wonderful selection, great book-related merch like stickers and pins, and a staff that is incredibly knowledgeable about their books. They also host many events, including author events and book clubs based on genre (historical fiction, queer fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, feminist, mythology, and more!) which is awesome. I haven't had the time to attend one because of work and school but I hope to be able to this summer! Their sister store is a plant shop that's directly connected to the bookstore, and the two work in tandem beautifully. It's a cozy space in the heart of downtown Leesburg that you should absolutely stop by when you're in the area. On my last trip, I got "The Teller of Small Fortunes" and "The Gate to Kagoshima," and I'm looking forward to sipping tea and diving into them.

I love this place--books and plants in the same location? Can't go wrong with that. There are also great crafted items. The book clubs that you can join are varied and fantastic. You can find all of them on their website, and you can register there too. This place is the total package--you can go in and see the books and chat with Leah and her crew, or you can stay home and order books from their website. I like having those options, because sometimes I'm looking for a good book and want to ask around. The folks here are incredibly good at helping you find books you'll love. I highly recommend this shop! Have a photo of my Stromanthe Triostar that I found at Birch Tree from EcoAmi

Walked into this place on a whim and couldn't be happier that I did. Such a hidden gem in downtown Leesburg. It's exactly the type of store you like to visit and support. Plants aren't my thing but I was actually really interested in what they had which seemed to flow well with the bookstore. For a smaller book store, their selection was impressive and the staff was super friendly. This will be a regular stop for me and I can't recommend it enough. I'd much rather support a local owned store like this than a big box store.

Lea and her new shop are fabulous. The space is in the back two rooms on the second floor above Cowbell Kitchen / The Corner Store’s Leesburg location. It’s seems like a truly historic property, with steeply raked stairs and uneven floors room-to-room. But what you find inside is well worth the effort. The shop is packed (packed!) with books on every wall, in every corner, and down the middle of the shop. They stock books for all ages and many different tastes. I went in for advice on longer bedtime books that I could read to my young kids for at least 20-25 minutes without worrying about scary themes or coarse language. Lea went above and beyond, introducing me to a half-dozen options and giving me the time to explore. I left with three books, and my son already loves them all. This is the kind of attention and care that I think is missing from so much of the 21st-century book-buying experience. So glad I found this shop.

I highly recommend BTB. My kids and I will definitely be back.

My only wish is that BTB had a bigger space that was easier to access from the street, but don’t let that stop you from visiting. Lea is so sweet; I’m sure she’d be willing to accommodate customers that can’t make it upstairs or across sloping floors. Give this...

This book and plant store is pure magic! From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the calming scent of fresh greenery and the cozy charm of shelves stacked with carefully curated books. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden sanctuary—where every corner invites you to slow down, explore, and get lost in something beautiful. Your heart thanks YOU!

The plant selection is stunning, with healthy, vibrant greenery for every space and skill level (even for those of us who try to have a green thumb). The staff is super knowledgeable, offering thoughtful tips to help your plants thrive.

And the books? Absolute perfection. Whether you’re after a gripping novel, an inspiring non-fiction read, or a gorgeous coffee table book, there’s something here that feels like it was waiting just for you.

What truly makes this place special is the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine passion from everyone who works there. It’s more than just a shop; it’s a little oasis of joy and inspiration.

Can’t recommend this place enough—whether you’re hunting for your next favorite read, a new leafy companion, or just a peaceful escape from the day-to-day, this is...

This bookstore is so quaint and perfectly lovely! Since this is a small, locally-owned bookstore the selection might be more limited, but I had no trouble finding exciting new reads. Along with their well-organized main section, they have a lovely children's book and YA section with neat crafting sets and unique toys. The stationary section of the store was also a wonderful surprise with very high-quality English sets. I haven't even told you about what makes this bookstore stand out... They have a connected plant store (EcoAmi Plants) with a large variety of beautiful plants. Potted plants for sale are also sprinkled among the books making for a cozy aesthetic throughout the shop. Check them out or attend one of their local events that they hold with partner vendors from Historic Leesburg's small-business owners. They also host a bookclub with featured authors, including local ones. A...
