Really disappointed after our experience tonight. Our child has many severe allergies and we are grateful that when we need to eat out, Blaze has options to work with. However, the lack of care demonstrated by some of the staff tonight was completely inexcusable. We explained the allergies in the beginning, kindly had to ask the staff to switch to new gloves and it was going fine. We get to the end of the line and ask the guy to please use a new and clean pizza cutter. He nodded, but when the pizza came out we watched as he used the cutter that was out. We explained to him that we can not have our child eat that pizza because the cutter used was not clean. He responded telling us no, it’s fine he used the dairy free one. We then explained, again, that the child is allergic to multiple items including ingredients in the dairy free cheese. He scoffed, literally rolled his eyes and said “Look, I used the dairy free knife I don’t get what the problem is”. So we explained, once again, that the residue on that knife would harm her. He was now clearly irritated, shaking his head and mumbling as he shoved the pizza at another worker and said “remake this”. Now this worker was new and I don’t believe he had heard the concern for the allergies stated earlier. I didn’t see him change gloves, the new pizza went in the oven and now the guy pulling the pizza from the oven continues to set this pizza directly on top of a normal cheese pizza. The bottom of the pizza now had cheese stuck to it and again could not be served to our child. The guy cutting again with attitude tells us it’s fine, and honestly at this point it wasn’t worth inconveniencing him for another pizza again. So we left, had to throw away the pizza, wasted money, and that child was singled out and forced to find something else for dinner after waiting and watching an adult be so rude and reckless. Honestly, I’m relieved we watched because had we not, the child easily could have spent the night in the hospital. Maybe don’t offer allergy accommodations if it won’t be respected? It really was a sad situation, and one that other customers even noticed and made comments to us about, and left a small child feeling like a burden and disappointment over something that really could have been...
Read moreThis was my first time at Blaze in Utah. We got here with one other customer in front of us. Customers started to file in slowly behind us, and they got our orders started quickly which was nice. They got us to the point of adding cheese, and then suddenly employees just started walking around back and forth kind of looking like they weren’t sure what to do. Other employees were standing over by the register kind of looking over at us and waiting for the other employees to do something, from what I could tell. They kept starting all of the customers orders behind us, putting cheese and sauce on their pizzas while we sat waiting to be helped while employees were walking around not looking at us. We counted 9 (yes nine) employees in the place.
They finally got our pizzas in the oven about the same time as they got everyone else’s in - even though we had begun our orders before others had even arrived. We got our food in a timely manner, and the pizza was pretty good. I did fond myself asking multiple times for more to be added on just about every step to finally cover the crust, though. (I’ve never had an issue with this at other “build your own pizza” places with this. I usually leave stuffed and with a third or half pizza still in a box).
We went to sit down and everything was pretty gross. Hard to find a decent place to sit. The trash was overflowing, and a drink was overturned pouring over the edge onto the floor. (I will attach some photos. The one I attach is when the workers finally came mid-meal to clean it up).
I’ve worked in fast-food before and I understand it gets busy during rush time. However, I’ve never needed to work with 9 people even during the worst of rushes and we still managed to keep the lobby clean for customers to enjoy.
But the food still tasted good and the employees were nice enough to give 3 stars. Mostly just wanting the management to know what we...
Read moreYou think I come to this blaze pizza for the food? WRONG! This blaze pizza if 49 mins out of my way. I have been to this blaze pizza countless times and have not once ever been disappointed! Just imagine, you open the doors to a pizza themed subway joint, and it no matter if there’s 0 people in line or 500 people in line, it will always take 40 mins to get to the cash register. Why? Because all the workers here are completely high off of their rockers! I have no idea what they’re on, but it’s glorious, not only do I get mediocre pizza, but I get the most suspenseful and intense movie-like scene happening before my eyes. Every. Single. Time. Without fail. I mean I’ve never watched somebody struggle so hard just to put 4 pepperonis on a pizza. The lack of coordination and the over exertion of concentration in these moments puts a 3 year old with Parkinson’s who’s trying to build his pizza lunchables to shame. You can’t help but watch wide-eyed, with your face pushed to the glass as these workers go through every kind of PTSD imaginable just so that way you get a little uneven pitch of oregano across 1/4 of your pizza. Their eyes are glazed over, a little drool is creeping down one side of their mouth and you can tell that they’re fighting every urge to eat your pizza, uncooked dough and all. Though on the surface, at just a glance, they may seem like just a group of high minimum wage workers who are tripping on acid, but pay close attention. They are actually hero’s and knights in shining armor, with each one going through countless wars and battles just to make sure I get my slightly burnt pizza, slightly burnt, every time. They aren’t just workers, but heroes and my personal role models. Hats off to blaze pizza, for having workers, way more blazed...
