They are only getting a 1 star because I cannot give a 0 star review to a place. This was perhaps one of the worst experiences for a business I have ever had. We went there on a Monday night at 630pm. There was a small line but it wasn't bad. We then proceeded to place our order and things got worse from there. The employees were very slow in getting the shaved ice out. They were not motivated to speed up the service and had no order in the names the called. People that arrived after us got their shaved ice and left. When we asked the employees when we would get ours they couldn't provide a time. At 730pm we still had no ice and the owner pulled up, He slowly walked in to help and the service still did not speed up,. Finally, at 8pm, I had to tell my kids we needed to leave and we were not going to get what we had paid for. I then went to the booth to tell them to not make our order and neither the employees or the owner cared. They just took our paper order and threw it away. They didn't apologize or offer a refund they simply threw the order away. We were so disgusted with the disorganization of the business, the lack of actually caring that they were loosing a customer that we vowed we would never return to this shaved ice shack again. We should have left sooner and realized no shaved ice is ever worth waiting over...
Read moreI’ve always loved Lucky’s. However, I visited on Saturday around 5:00 PM. I waited at the window for 10 minutes while the workers saw me and stared, but they didn't help me until 10 minutes later. There were no other customers, just me and my kids. The staff were just talking to each other and acted like I wasn’t there. When I finally ordered, a worker with blonde hair gave me a lot of attitude. My son has a stutter, and the order taker and a few girls started giggling and whispering. I had a Lucky's punch card with 3 holes left. I ordered 3 shaved ices, but she didn’t give us a free one and told us to come back another time. I explained how the card worked, but she just rolled her eyes. As they were making the ice, I noticed they were mocking my son and heard them through the open window. They were mocking his stutter and how small he was. It took 25 minutes for our 3 shaved ices to be ready. All the girls did was talk about drama. One girl in a yellow shirt was on her phone and not helping. Read moreI cannot believe the owners have still not fixed the issue with the bees & wasps swarming the location. The trash can is literally filled with wasps and bees. They buzz all around and while you wait in line and even the employees are dodging getting stung while taking your order. When we visited last week my kids were so uncomfortable that we left and went to a park to eat instead, other customers started to do the same after we left.
Today, one week later, as I was driving past I noticed customers swatting away at bees with their hats and a huge swarm still overrunning the garbage can and the stand.
What a horribly run business. I feel bad for the employees and I think Lucky’s is going to lose some customers that won’t want to come back next season. I know we won’t. A simple strong lid to cover a trash can would even help. Hopefully the owners resolve...
