Birrieria La Loteria — Restaurant in Lemon Grove

"Cooks want to fight." My girlfriend and I ordered today and felt distraught because the order was taking over 15 minutes. When I asked the cashier if our order was in process she said "I don't remember that order." But then said "oh yeah it's on the way 15 more minutes." So I mentioned to her she should tell her guests that the wait is 20 minutes because nobody told us. Her response was "Oh there's a big order in front of you." Some guests waiting for their order behind me started saying rude comments to me and wanted to fight me. they said "let's take this around the food truck" I asked them "why they were even starting anything with me?" And at that point the Cook Himself came out of the truck ready to fight me. He told the cashier to give me my money back although I didn't ask for that I just wanted the food. I've never been so disrespected in my life.

I never said anything about Mexican people or any disrespect. I only mentioned that you should tell your customers when the food will take 30 minutes. Whoever the cowboy was that came out looking for a fight with me was also very disrespectful. I’ve been coming to this birrieria truck for a while now, and let me tell you, their food is absolutely unmatched. Highly recommend the grilled cheese and the taco dorados. The birria is tender, flavorful, absolutely to die for. You can taste the love in every bite. Their consommé? Absolutely divine. It's the kind of food that you daydream about, and I know I’m not alone in saying this place is a hidden gem.

As for the recent wave of bad reviews, it’s pretty obvious they’re not legit. It’s laughable, really—these reviewers sound more like they’re spreading petty schoolyard drama than actual critiques. Anyone who’s eaten here knows the food is immaculate, the staff is kind, and the kitchen...

I got quesabirria from here. After we ordered, they called our number not even 2 minutes later, how did the chef cook it in 2 minutes..? I feel like he was in a rush or our food was old.

We took one bite and almost threw up. There was a huge chuck of cheese that was melted that tasted so disgusting. We tried to take the cheese out, but the quesabirria was not appetizing at all.
