I Love Target but fell taken advantage of by a 3rd party retailer permitted to sell in the Target store in College Grove . September 21, 2021 – While shopping at Target I was approached by Quinn (AT&T authorizer seller) who advised AT&T was offering cell free cell phones as part of the loyalty program. Quinn advised AT&T was offering upgrades to current customer the phones for free because the company knows that that other service carrier will offer deals for customer to switch to their company. Quin advised I would only need to pay the sales tax and the phone would be free. So, at the time I purchased 4 new phones for the sales tax of $267 believing that there would be no additional cost as stated by Quinn. Additionally, he offered AT&T internet at $45/mo. And said that the modem would be paid for by Target and therefore would be at no cost. Since I am currently paying that rate and was actually in Target to purchase a new modem and router I figure if it is at no additional cost I can switch to AT&T internet and receive a free modem. So, I also signed up for AT&T internet service. September 23, 2021 – I communicated my interest in getting one more phone via text to Quinn. He advised “Any additional upgrades you need done can be done with me over the phone. I will be working tomorrow after 1pm.” September 24, 2021 – I went back to the target store around 2pm (PST) in hopes to speak with Quinn regarding my additional upgrade. Upon arrival he was not there but I spoke with another gentle and lady whose names I did not get. In starting the upgrade process the things they were telling me were nothing like what Quinn had told him. They advised I would need to pay tax and then would be leasing the phone for 3 years. At that point I cancelled the upgrade we were discussing and advised I would be going to the ATT store to clarify what I was told by Quinn. September 26, 2021 – I went to the AT&T store in Mission Valley California and spoke with Jimmy to get clarification on the 4 free phones I had previously paid the tax only. Jimmy advised that I would be billed monthly payments for all 4 phones for 36 months. I notified AT&T management in store along with the Target management. Target advised it was the first time they are hearing of this issue but the Mission Valley, CA AT&T store says they have a multitude of customer complaints and returns due to dishonest practices. I feel preyed upon by Quin and his dishonest deceptive sales practices. The third party authorized AT&T seller should not allow this dishonest fraudulent behavior. To make matter worse he used Targets good name and reputation to make his sale of internet with a free modem more believable. I had found a pressure cooker originally $70 but it had a sticker for $17.49 I was in shock even asked my sister if what I was seeing was correct. As we went to check out at the register the cashier called manager for price modify/approval. He said no that he was not going to change it because that was a big difference. As I continued to tell him that, that isn't right / fair as a manager he needs to change it. He accused me of changing the price. As he tried to take off the extremely stuck sticker and peels off some of the box with it with another price tag under. I told him once more that he has to validate that price he raised his voice and said "NO, I know I can, but I won't ". I have never in my life have had such a rude manager. I ordered multiple items along with my dogs food and The lady Mary that was working the pick orders brought out 4 orders that contained one plastic bag each on different time frames , the last order was brought out at 10:02 and I told her that ive been waiting for my order and she said very rudely we’re now closed and short staffed I said I really need to get my items , my dog needs to eat , I also asked to see a manager and she walked away. I don’t understand how they are short staffed when all I saw were employees standing and talking. This is unacceptable. She was either trying to milk the time and do one order at a time or she’s just simply lazy. I will be calling corporate tomorrow.
