We had the cockroach shrimp, ensenade style fish and shrimp tacos, carne asada taco, and chupacabra combination plate. Cockroach shrimp was absolutely killer, we almost kicked the plate clean! The tacos left a lot to be desired, unfortunately. Bland fish and shrimp, and a huge chunk of inedible fat in the asada taco. Chupacabra combo was mostly good, except for the bacon wrapped shrimp. Bacon was 1. Excessive, 2. Tough on the outside, and 3. Undercooked on the inside.
As for the waitress... She could definitely use some training in hospitality. Each and every single plate was dropped onto our table. At one point it seemed like she was just tossing appetizer plates in our general direction. We asked for another minute to review the menu and it was a full 20 before she came back to take our order and we were the only ones in entire the restaurant other than a group that had already been served. The music was loud, random, and constantly interrupted by Facebook Messenger notifications. When we asked her if there was any way the music could be turned down, she quickly turned away and acted like she didn't hear us (ironic).
For the cherry on top, when I asked for the bill, she set it directly in front of my husband with a "Here you go, sir" as if I didn't just ask for it. Not to be that person, but why is the waitress assuming that a woman can't pay for her meal? I digress.
Go for the food, but only if you're willing to put up with the service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the opportunity to try out a variety of dishes. While my overall experience had its ups and downs, there were a few standout items that Iād like to highlight.
First and foremost, the Shrimp and Octopus cocktail stole the show. The combination of flavors and the freshness of the seafood were absolutely amazing. Itās a definite must-try for seafood lovers.
On the other hand, I found the shrimp tostada to be a bit underwhelming. Although it had potential, it seemed to be missing that extra ingredient or seasoning to bring out its full flavor. Additionally, considering its small portion size, I felt that it was a bit overpriced.
Moving on to the beverages, the Lemonade was a delightful surprise. Its refreshing taste was spot-on, and it complemented the meal perfectly. Itās definitely worth ordering if you visit this place.
Lastly, I was a bit disappointed with the kidsā pizza. The photo showcased pepperoni, but sadly, the actual pizza didnāt have any. This inconsistency was a letdown, especially for younger diners who had their hearts set on that classic topping.
Overall, my experience was a mix of highs and lows. While the Shrimp and Octopus cocktail and the Lemonade were impressive, the shrimp tostada fell short and the kidsā pizza lacked the promised ingredients. With a few adjustments, this place could...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe steak was very good - great, in fact; and the server was courteous. My concern was the apparent effort to insure I didn't leave before paying. Having worked in restaurants myself, I recognized the measures the cashier took to block the exit, stationing herself a few feet away from my table, staring at me until I finished eating. I doubt this problem would occur for virtually anyone else, though. One other issue may have been the volume of the speakers that were piping in the Mexican music. Finally, there were apparent staff members that were also very boisterous.
