Rustic Knead — Restaurant in Lemont Township

This place has the most incredible sandwiches and salads. And that's speaking as someone who's not all that fond of most salads.)

I met here with a couple friends basically by chance. Lemont happened to be at about the "midway point" for the three of us. One of us checked Google for lunch suggestions and the Rustic Knead came up. It had great reviews and seemed likely to have something we could agree on, so we agreed to meet there.

When we got here we originally planned on getting one sandwich and two salads, then splitting the food up between the three of us. However, it didn't quite work out that way. The food they serve turned out to be so ridiculously flavorful that calling it "tasty", "yummy", or even "great" feels like an insult! And no, that's not an exaggeration. Really.

In the end, we each ended up getting our own sandwich and salad so we could all try different things and not have to share it. It was just that good. I think we may have gotten one to go, too. So. Yeah. If you're even vaguely in the area and like salads and sandwiches so good they make you write a review raving about them, stop in here. You won't regret it!

I had a very frustrating experience during my recent visit. The staff seemed quite inexperienced and lacked basic customer service skills. Most of them appeared to be very young and unsure of what they were doing, which led to a lot of confusion.

They barely communicated — speaking in one-word answers and not loud enough for customers to even hear or understand. It was difficult to get clear information or any real help. Good customer service is about clear communication and a friendly attitude, and unfortunately, that was missing here.

I hope management provides proper training so that customers don’t leave feeling as frustrated and confused as I did.

Also, the gluten-free bread is awful. It is sweet and falls apart. You can't even pick it up. It fell apart two times I got it from here while they were making it and they just like did not even replace. Gave me a broken falling apart bread sandwich. I personally do not recommend gluten...
