Worst customer service ever. Won’t be back. We arrived at 9:05 because other boba places close at 9pm. We were greeted by an abrupt lady wearing cat ears and bleached hair who said, “you can order but you can’t sit down. You have to take your drinks outside because we are closing.” Well, it only got worse from there… we ordered from the rude lady, then waited behind several other customers for our drinks. I sat in the cool wicker chair while my teen kids sat on some barstools by the window. The rude lady stopped making drinks (while there were at least 6 people ahead of us waiting for theirs, and a line at the counter) to come out from behind the counter and tell my kids they weren’t allowed to sit down while waiting for our drinks. She started flipping chairs over to make her point before she had to go back to making drinks. Then some of our drinks came out before the couple ahead of us. She accused customers of stealing their drinks instead of apologizing to them (they ordered bright purple drinks, and were not stolen by anyone - I was right there). The staff simply didn’t make their drinks. Then, my kids had moved over to the counter where the drinks were being placed (STANDING because they weren’t allowed to sit) since the rest of our drinks were next. She came out again and yelled at them that they weren’t allowed to stand THERE! I don’t even know why. It’s exactly where the previous couple waited to get their drinks. There was no other place to stand. I was about ready to just ask for a refund, but there were rude “NO REFUNDS” signs on the walls. Apparently we weren’t the first customers to be disappointed! We finally got our drinks and got out of there. For $40 worth of drinks, I think we should have been allowed to sit down DURING business hours to enjoy them! We were celebrating one of my kids and it was a splurge for us. Too bad it was a horrible experience. There were at least 10 people that came in behind us, so there’s no way they were closing early. If you’re going to stay open later than the competition, then you have to expect a late rush. It’s a shame they kick customers out and treat them like trash. Good luck Ding! I’ll drive all the way to the Dragonfly or Gocha before I...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS NASTY BOBA SHOP!!!!! I had the misfortune of visiting this boba shop, and it was nothing short of a disappointment from start to finish. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this place was going to be a letdown.
Firstly, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed utterly disinterested in their jobs and lacked any sense of professionalism. They were slow, inattentive, and downright rude. It felt like they couldn't be bothered to take my order, let alone make my drink correctly. I waited for what seemed like an eternity, only to receive a poorly made boba that was nothing like what I had requested.
Speaking of the drinks, they were absolutely awful. The boba itself was overcooked and had a weird, rubbery texture. It was as if they had left it sitting out for hours before serving it. The tea was watered down, lacking any flavor, and had an unpleasant aftertaste. I could barely finish my drink, and that's saying something since I'm usually a boba enthusiast.
The lack of cleanliness in this place was also disturbing. The tables were sticky, and the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. It was not only unappealing but also a potential health hazard. I couldn't help but wonder about the hygiene standards in their kitchen if they couldn't even maintain the public areas.
Furthermore, the prices were exorbitant for the subpar quality they offered. I've been to numerous boba shops that provided exceptional drinks and service at a reasonable price, but this place was just trying to milk its customers for all they were worth.
The overall ambiance was underwhelming, with no effort put into creating a cozy or inviting atmosphere. It felt like a run-down, forgotten corner rather than a place you'd want to hang out and enjoy your boba with friends.
In summary, this boba shop was a complete disaster. The lackluster service, terrible drinks, poor hygiene, and inflated prices all contributed to an incredibly unsatisfying experience. Save your time, money, and taste buds and steer clear of this awful boba shop. There are plenty of other places that actually know how to make a decent boba and value their customers'...
Read moreI found out about Ding Tea from a fellow student during my college orientation (UMKC), so I had to come and check it out. This is the best bubble tea place that I have been to in the US to date. Just like all of the rest of the bubble tea places that I go to, I got a large Signature Milk Tea and Black Tea Latte (not pictured here) with boba. Unlike a lot of other bubble tea places in the US, the boba here was cooked properly and didn't sit out for a long time, making it nice, chewy and delicious. The black tea flavor was pronounced and wasn't overpowered by anything. As someone that was born in Taiwan and goes back to visit every year, I say that the drinks were pretty authentic and remind me of Taiwan. Considering that this is the US, the price is good at about $5.50 per large boba drink, including tax. The staff were friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. Bonus points to them because they asked for what sugar level I would like (just like how they do in Taiwan!) The overall atmosphere of the place was comfortable, cozy, and clean. It had a modern vibe to it and is definitely a great hangout spot. I only found two issues with this place: 1. The drinks were a tad bit too sweet although I asked for 70% sugar and 2. I could taste the milk powder that they used in the Signature Milk Tea. However, I can see that once they get these issues resolved, this place has nearly endless potential to grow. After all, it is a new place! I will definitely come back many more times over my next few years...
