Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Lenexa

As a highly rated Google Reviewer with almost 13 million views I can say I've been to many places that serve Chicken and Chicken Tender wraps but Popeyes Louisiana Chicken located in the Oak Park Commons at 9460 Quivira Road in Lenexa Kansas blew my mind and taste buds away because I just had the best Chicken Tender wraps ever in my life. This Popeye's location is new from what I see of how nice and clean the restaurant looked and the General Manager whose name is Ivan was the kindest and most friendly GM I've ever met. He even allowed me to watch how their delicious Popeye'sOriginal Chicken Tender wrap is put together. What brought me to Popeyes is that they have a Brand New Blackened Pepper Chicken wrap that you can only get through their Popeyes App or their website since it's a ,"Digital exclusive," so everyone please take my word when I say these new Limited Time Only Blackened Pepper Chicken wraps are remarkable. I ordered the Blackened Pepper Chicken wrap Bundle which let me choose 2 Blackened Pepper Chicken tender wraps. They have Original which is with Mayo. A spicy one that has spicy sauce, and a Honey mustard one to choose from. I went with the Mayo and Honey mustard ones but I took it a step further and also ordered a small Red Beans and rice to go with it. I took a spoonful of Red Beans and rice to top each bite and loved every bit if it. Sorry McD'z but Popeyes beat you to the punch and are now the King of Chicken Tender wraps. The wrap Bundle I ordered also comes with a frozen or Chilled premium drink of choice but I went with a diet soda due to diabetes. The Bundle only cost me $9.99 and they do also have a Blackened Pepper Chicken wrap combo that comes with a single Chicken wrap, a side of choice, and a drink for $8.99 but can be made large for only 2 dollars more and it would then come with 2 regular sides and a large drink. My Chicken wraps were also made to order which was even more amazing and I can't say enough about how you should not pass up this Popeyes location because its amazing. Please download their app and give these Blackened Pepper Chicken wraps a try. You will definitely fall in love with them. I also got to try their original crispy Chicken wrap that Ivan personally made. I loved the crispyness and how tender their original chicken strip is. It came with lettuce,Mayo, cheese, and 2 barrel cured pickles. The Blackened Pepper wraps also come with the same toppings and by the time I finished all my wraps, I had eaten 5 total,( 4 Blackened and 1 original). I'll definitely be going back to this Popeyes location to order some more soon so if your craving Popeyes or want to try these brand new Blackened Pepper Chicken Tender Wraps then please go to the 9460 Quivira Rd location because it's the best Popeyes in the metro and they have the friendliest staff there that were all smiles and I could tell that they took pride in what they do and thats making amazing Chicken. This Popeye’s has been open long enough that I remain disappointed each time I visit and here’s why:

of the five times we’ve been, they’ve gotten my order incorrect…five times. A 2 piece meal that should’ve been a 3 piece (twice!), missing orders of extra biscuits (twice!), a spicy sandwich that should have been plain, missing sauces…it’s usually something trivial, but it’s always inconvenient and not what we paid for. every time I’ve ordered in their app, and every time there is immense confusion at the ordering box in the drive thru, as if I’m the first person to have used the app - most times I’m asked to just pull to the window where they ask again. This last time, they had me review the ticket to be sure it was right (and then STILL didn’t fulfill it accurately as printed) all but once I’ve been asked to pull forward to wait for my order. Which is totally normal. But then it’s always a long wait - tonight it was literally 15 minutes. For a sandwich, some tenders, fries, and biscuits.

The first time or two, I excused it as new store growing pains. The third time and following I had to submit a support request in the app (pro-tip: do this). It’s gotten to the point where it’s clear there’s a broken system or serious training issue, perhaps both.

My advice: check your order before you pull away, and don’t be shy about using the credit-and-refund-giving chatbot in the app.

TL;DR: the food is great when you finally get it and if they get it right, but dang...

I had high hopes for Popeyes and don’t visit often, but I was looking forward to the fish sandwich… and even just trying this new location but I was extremely disappointed with not just the conversation in the lobby by the employees, but also the quality of the food. As I was standing and waiting for my order, there was a large table of about seven young Hispanic employees sitting around in the lobby not working and I wondered why so many employees were just sitting there.. just seemed odd to me, maybe the store was overstaffed on a Friday night? That wasn’t offensive, but they were speaking poorly about customers in Spanish as well white people specifically, because I understand and can speak Spanish myself. If I owned and ran this business, I would be ashamed for what they were saying about customers but also everything I ordered for my family was extremely salty and we ate half of our sandwiches/food and could not continue and threw the food out. I spent about $40 and to have to throw 50% of what I bought out is ridiculous. From the chicken, to the fish, to the sauce, it was just disgustingly salty and if I hadn’t gotten it to-go, I would’ve asked for a refund. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone. I wouldn’t be surprised if these employees weren’t checking quality, which is why it was all really grossly salty. The lack of quality in product and service in this new location is the handwriting...
