This is the WORST restaurant in whole Lenoir! Me and my fiancé live in Oklahoma City and came to visit my family for the week & decided to come here for food and drinks. My tab/bill was $200 just for alcoholic drinks and one appetizer. EVERY LAST DRINK the manager made for us was HORRIBLE, watered down, and barely any alcohol in our beverages. I asked our waitress to bring forth the manager or person in charge to fix the situation. Mind you, I asked for the ticket, paid the tab with no issue. I simply wanted better drinks for my friends. The white female manager with a lisp when she talks and couldn’t pronounce her words correctly, came to our table with a very bitchy attitude from the start. I pointed out to her that the majority of the drinks we ordered were sipped on and barely drank because of how horrible the drinks tasted. I explained to her in the nicest way that the drinks she made us were trash and I asked could we get better drinks. Never once asked for a refund or anything of that nature. She said there was nothing she could do, she didn’t resolve nor want to fix any of the issues, and she messed up the waitresses tip because of how me and my friends were treated. I only tipped the waitress $20, although I didn’t want to tip a damn thing because of my experience. The waitress would’ve made waaaayyyy more had me and my company been satisfied. The current manager there is BAD for business and I will NEVER go back there and I WILL tell every last person I know personally in Lenoir not to EVER go there! I feel sorry for the owner & very disappointed because IF this is what he allows in his establishment and profession of business, he should be shut down immediately!!!! TOTALLY BAD FOR BUSINESS!!!! Word of mouth is everything & it sure does travel very fast!!! Everyone in Caldwell County knows who I, Jessica Caldwell, is and for me and my friends/family to get treated with disrespect while visiting this establishment, is totally out of line!!! I give this place 0 out of 10 and I damn sure wouldn’t tell the black or white community to support...
Read moreMy father and I had two separate meals here. Lunch and Dinner. Here are the Pros and Cons from both visits. Overall review reflects true facts while also taking into account that a new restaurant is working out the kinks. Had Tumbleweeds been opened for more than 6 months and we encountered these issues, my review would have been a 2 star. Better intervention from Management was expected.
Lunch "4 star" - Tumbleweed burger, Delicious! Dinner "1 star" - 8 oz Filet with veggies and salad
Pros - *Great Atmosphere *Friendly waiters/ waitresses *Burger was excellent *Steak fries were excellent *Beef used is excellent quality *Beer good :)
Cons - *Homemade rolls handed out before the meal is extremely dry and not worth consuming. This was unanimous with my dad as well at both meals.
*The cook on staff during our evening meal had no idea how to cook a steak to a customers request. They tried 3 times and failed.First and second time they tried two separate steaks and delivered them RAW. I asked them to just cook the second steak longer to bring it up to Medium Rare.... They redelivered it to me still RARE. The waitress mentioned that the cook uses a thermometer to cook the meat to temperature. That explained a lot to us. Most decent chefs know how long to cook a steak by look/feel. Personal opinion is the thermometer should only be used if needed by restaurant code.
*The Filet had strong seasoning which is not needed on a good cut of Beef. My father and I suggested lighter seasoning to the Waitress to pass onto the owner.
*The vegetables were not cooked properly. They were spongy and cold.
*The Manager never came to apologize. I ended up not eating anything past my...
Read moreI've spoken with the owner several times at Dos Amigos of Lenoir about his the new restaurant (Tumbleweeds Steak & Tavern) he was opening which will also have several vegetarian dishes since he is also a vegetarian. For this reason, I was optimistic. Unfortunately after our experience I don't foresee us returning... Food quality is sub-par for the amount charged, service is slow, and owner/staff seems unconcerned about problems. Our server was the owner's wife and was informed I was a vegetarian when she took our initial drink order. Appetizers were received separately approximately 10 minutes apart. Mozzarella Sticks served in a checkered red & white paper fry container (like you would get from a cart vendor at a ballgame). The house salads were received 5 minutes after the meals. My husbands' 14 oz. Ribeye was chewy (comparable to a steak from Walmart) and the broccoli was overcooked. My son's & father-in-law's 12 oz Ribeyes looked more like 8 oz cut of flank steak and the baked potatoes were old (inside of potato brown instead of white). My alfredo pasta [that I had made a point to tell the server (vegetarian owner's wife) again at time of ordering let the server that I was a vegetarian] was received with small chicken & sauteed onion pieces in the bottom of the bowl hidden under the pasta. When I told the server (owner's wife) know about the chicken pieces, she didn't apologize or rectify the situation. Instead she said, okay. I had to request a new one. When it was received, it still had a few places that had the same 'brown' color in it. For this reason, I asked it to be removed...
