One star is too much. I had a horrible experience here last night. We were greeted promptly by our waitress and our drinks were brought out, in plastic cups that were cracked and chipped. We then placed our order, and had a couple requests. We asked for extra crispy shrimp, and instead of the side, to please just bring an extra bowl of hushpuppies. She replied that they were free anyway and she would "bring more out later" (but never did). While waiting for our food, we cleaned the sticky off the table, and started noticing the flies. Everywhere. Dead flies in the window sill, and the rest all over the dining room. Our food comes out quickly. The shrimp was warm at best and about as far from extra crispy as you can get. The fries were bland with no salt or seasoning of any kind. We attempted to eat anyway, despite the constant need to keep the flies away from our food and drinks. The waitress comes back and asks if everything is ok, and I tell her about the food and flies. She asked if she could have the shrimp recooked or get another side, and I said no thanks. At this point I requested the manager. Waitress comes back with another plate of shrimp, and while I appreciate the effort to fix it, we had already said we did not want more. The manager Bobby comes out about 15 minutes later. I explained to him all of these problems we had. With the flies, he acted like it was no big deal, and went on to say they had fans but there was nothing more they could do. I get it, despite my complaints I am not too picky and do not think I have overly high expectations. I could understand a fly or two, but they clearly have a problem with them, and with cleaning. As for the fries, he said he knew they were bland and blamed it on having a new fryer. Not sure what that had to do with their salt shaker?! He asked if we wanted anything else, and we declined. The waitress brings our check, and we head to the register. The check had no total written on it, and to be honest I was shocked that the manager had not taken at least the shrimp off. I asked her about it and the manager comes back out. He took 10% off of our bill, leaving our total $25+ for 2 adults and 1 child. I have been a call in customer for years, and after one visit to their dining room will be getting our...

Loved it! We arrived midway between the lunch and dinner rush so the place was quiet. Our waitress was on the ball and got our orders in quickly. The meals were delicious and cooked to our specifications. We weren't interrupted over and over fishing for compliments. She knew her job and did it well. A pleasant, quiet meal. Delicious! When we left, I realized I had forgotten my purse, so we returned. Everyone helped me look for it but it wasn't found. I was very upset. I left my name and number in case it got moved and found later by someone coming on for the evening shift. How can you miss seeing a bright hot pink purse? I was beside myself. We had other errands to run when we left the restaurant and then returned home. And there on the couch was my purse!!! I called the restaurant back to thank them again for helping me look for it and to say it was found. They were a great help keeping me from worrying about it while we searched. This is real service with a smile. We had a great meal, great service, and smiles all around and we will not only return but definitely tell others about this wonderful restaurant and the staff! Thanks again people for your help!!! Wish I had remembered I had left it at home but it's extremely rare I go anywhere without it, so it never occurred that I might have left it behind...

There was six of us, and we were given a table that we had privacy, space, and with a nice atmosphere. There was a very young lady that was our server, she even gave us her name which I will not post out of respect for her privacy. She was very nice, polite, respectful, and attentive to all of us. My sister commented on what a great job she was doing taking care of all of us, and she thanked her and said it meant a lot because she was new and this was her first day, of her very first job. We were all very surprised to hear this, because this young lady was on point the entire time. Our food was very good, and this young lady made sure our glasses were full, and that we didn't need or want for anything. Congrats to her in her new, first job, and more so for the outstanding job she is doing. If you've ever worked in this line of work, you know it isn't easy, even if you've done before, so I commend her. If I had to complain about anything from this visit, it would be that I ate too much, but again we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you mayflower for outstanding food and thank you to our server for the outstanding service, you are...

Saw this restaurant as we were passing by and decided to stop in on the way back. I wanted some great seafood but great was not what I found with a couple exceptions. Our greeter did not greet us she grabbed a couple menus and walked away. My wife gave me a nudge to follow her. For a seafood restaurant, I found the menu had limited options / types of fish. I chose the fried platter which had perch, scallops and shrimp. The scallops were small but they were cooked just right. I was disappointed in the batter they used, it was completely void of taste! I usually do not season my food but I had to in this case. I did like the hush puppies tho they were very tasty and served in a unique way. Our waitress was efficient but not very friendly. At the end of the meal, she left the order ticket and disappeared. No explanation, no total amount and after sitting awhile my better half took the ticket up front and paid. I would not recommend this restaurant. I have other reviews on Google, click follow and see if one helps you on your next adventure!

The waiters and waitresses are all very good with keeping their masks on, and the entire restaurant is very well spaced out for the 50% capacity rule. Our waiter was friendly, thorough, and efficient, never leaving us wanting for anything during our meal. I had the broiled catfish, and it was very tender and a large portion. Hubby had the Alaskan white fish, which was also cooked well and large portion. Both could've used a bit more seasoning, but otherwise were great. The hush puppies were a fun break from traditional, being shaped like onion rings. Overall a tasty meal with more food than we could finish. We'll definitely come back to try other items.

I don't usually leave bad reviews but when you get sick after eating someplace I feel obligated to say something. Specifically, the fried scallops were spoiled. They tasted and smelled strongly of ammonia, which is what is released by decomposing seafood. Unfortunately, I had already taken a bite and swollowed. I had the Mayflower Special plate. It looked great. The clams were chewy like rubberbands, The scallops were over-cooked. The shrimp and hushpuppy rings were very good. The fish fillet was ok, but also had an off taste. Lots of fried breading on everything. The place was busy, so I'm hoping my experience wasn't common but nothing tasted fresh.
