This location does not pay enough attention to customer orders. This has caused me to waste additional time returning my order.
I have visited this particular location twice in the last month for breakfast. On both occasions I have ordered the same simple thing (Chorizo taco-no eggs). My first visit, I received eggs and went back inside to have it corrected and then left, however the portion size was insultingly small, roughly the size of a table spoon. I returned and asked for a larger portion and was refused- stating that was the regulated portion. (I've received larger portions at other locations) End result, my order was incorrect, I wasted additional time correcting the problem and I was not satisfied with the portion size compared to what I paid. Poor Customer Service
The second visit, as one-offs do occur, I ordered the same thing. A #10 combo, no eggs, w/lemonade from the drive through at 7am. My order was incorrect again. Egss were added. I returned to correct the problem. This time I did receive a correct taco with a generous portion of Chorizo! However, I did not receive my lemonade. I did not have the time to return again as I was pressed for time. The end result, my order was incorrect, an item was missing and I wasted additional time correcting the problem. I was however satisfied with the compensatory portion size, so I applaud the improvement there.
Because my time is valuable and this has happened consecutively, I struggle with the decision to give this location a 3rd try. It negatively impacted my time enough that I wanted to share my experience. Please use more care in receiving and executing...
Read moreTACO CABAÑA: a long time staple of Tex Mex fast-food, finally re-opens its doors to dine inn guests after the Pandemic government restrictions.
I've been eating here for almost four decades and remember it fondly. Unfortunately, Taco Cabana's glory days of old are long long gone.
Since the so-called pandemic affected Texas, so it did (affected) this once popular restaurant.
Food is not as delicious, the tacos are mostly served cold and incipient.
I was very happy to see the dining room open once again, but the entire dining area was a mess.
There was a pungent smell of raw sewerage coming from the bathrooms (or kitchen)
I ordered the fajita tacos and the chorizo and papa with eggs breakfast tacos for here (dine in).
The fajita taco was bare and it came with no fixings. All I had to compliment my fajita taco was a little salsa in a to go container.
The potato with chorizo and egg taco came with its ingredients not blended in. Papas were separate and falling off the burri-taco. Both items were cold and when I poured my diet Coke (typical, huh! fatty foods washed down with a diet drink. LOL) the diet coke was out of Syrup!
Overall I give this place a 3 stars (gotta give them a chance to improve since they've just re-opened after the pandemic).
I would come back if they clean up their act. Miss the old, glory days of...
Read moreWorst TC location ever. I like TC in general, but I will never return to this place. The air conditioning doesn't work, the salsa bar was empty, and there was no ice in the soda machine. There was also clutter around the cash register, and BTW the payment/card reader machine was out of order as well. This is not the first time I have found this place in such a condition, but it used to be good, and I keep thinking they will "bounce back" after the pandemic troubles. Nope. The problem here is the management. When I asked whether I could taste the hatch chile margarita before ordering it, I was told, "No." Silly me, I ordered it anyway because TC used to have a margarita with jalapeno that was delicious. Well, the hatch chile margarita was awful. It tasted like drinking frozen salsa. Yuck. When I asked to exchange it for another flavor, I was told, "No." Hmmm... Other places will give you a taste of something before you have to commit to buying it, and I suggest TC do the same. Regardless, a group of friends was supposed to meet me there, but we moved the party...
