Went into this place for some take out just hours ago (I'm writing this review past midnight) but my sister recommended this place because her and her daughter usually go up here to grab some Chinese food. Since she suggested this place, my mom and I came in this place and the Chinese boy working the register was very awkward. It was a slow night, it was only me, my mom and some other guy ordering food here. I get what I always get when I order Chinese food (Sesame chicken, chicken fried rice and pork egg roll). My mom gets her favorite as well (Shrimp pea pod and fried rice also with egg rolls).
As far as the service, the service was exceptional. Wasn't a super long wait for the food, then again it was a stormy night and like I said, business was slow and hardly anyone was there. As far as the food goes, it was OK. Not great but not terrible, I agree with the other reviewer, the food is of a typical food court in a strip mall. Stereotypically standard Chinese restaurant food, yellow rice with vegetables (peas, carrots and onion).
The eggs rolls was very strong, it had a pungent cabbage flavor and it was small and narrow in size compared to other egg rolls of other restaurants. It was also very dry (the wrap of the egg roll) but at least it was crispy enough to eat. As far as the other person saying that the sesame chicken needed more sauce, mine had plenty. I guess it depends of what type of day it is, but my sesame chicken had a little too much sauce and it was over soaked and soft. The chicken in the rice is white meat chicken chunks which is really all it is, nothing special. I could even prepare the same type of chicken by cutting up pieces of white meat from a chicken breast (I've cooked fried rice before, even stir fry). The rice was ok but I'd say this place was a step below China King, which says a lot because China King has kind of gotten sloppy and I quit going. At least they're yellow rice was very tasty, the pork and chicken was crispier and better in taste, BETTER egg rolls and sesame chicken is crispier and not too soft. China King even goes easy on the sauce if you request it.
As far as my mom's food, her food was the same but the shrimp pea pod definitely could have been better. My sister said the shrimp had a foul "fishy" smell and there really is no other comments other than the shrimp was just bland and it's just very standard Chinese food. Other than that, at least it's edible but WAYY too expensive for the quality. We paid 32 dollars for that. Three stars, they're lucky to receive the ratings they do if I can say so without...
Read moreI’ve only been here three times and every time I’ve said I would never come back. The previous times were for big to go orders and they were terrible. I thought I would give them a second chance and see if they could at least do eggrolls right. I mean maybe I caught him in a bad time the previous times. This time is absolutely the last time! If you can’t even do eggrolls right you should not be in this business. Worst eggroll I ever ate in my life! I threw the second one away! Nasty… The flavor was terrible… It clearly was not made from scratch… Still had to wait five minutes… It was overcooked. The person that takes the order at the window it’s also rude! I also don’t like the fact that they are shut down to a point where you have to stand in a closet sized place to order through a glass window and a woman with a mask. They are Covid crazy. I will never do business with this place again. Right down the road is an excellent Panda Express. I would rather go hungry than...
Read moreNot the worst crab Rangoon in the world. But it was definitely stale and cold. The sweet and sour sauce is all watery. Not great. And also, I waited for my food at that window for 15 minutes before the girl finally asked me what I had. When I told her, she picked it up and handed it to me. So how tf long was it sitting there??? Maybe why is was cold. No one hollered out anything to alert me it was ready and I was standing there in view the whole time..... That baffles me. Like what???? When it was done someone should have said "crab Rangoon!" But nope. They just set it down and went on with other people's orders. That's not good business practice. Like I said not the worst crab Rangoon. But not good enough to eat there again and bad customer service. I'll give credit to the girl who took my order. She was suuuuuuper sweet. That's the only reason...
