Just had some of the best food I've ever eaten here. My husband and I ordered hushpuppies as an appetizer, and shared the brisket plate with added fried catfish. It was all incredible. The hushpuppies were slightly sweet and fried to crispy perfection. The brisket was so good I didn't need any sauce with it, perfectly moist and delicious all on its own. The Mac and cheese is hands down the best I've ever had, it didn't have that fake Velveeta taste, just good yummy cheese. Now I'll say this, I usually dislike cream corn because I find it bland and only ordered it because my husband likes it. Let me tell you this opened a whole new world. It was seasoned really nice and the creamy flavor was top notch, but it wasn't too salty or over bearing. The fried catfish was well seasoned and came out piping hot, and it wasn't watery and flavorless on the inside like many other places I've tried, the fish inside was nice and meaty and tasted delicious. We also had ghe mashed potatoes and gravy, did not taste like it was from a box like most places, they were nice and creamy and delicious. Now let me tell you, with the appetizer and the one plate with added protein, even tho my husband and I shared it, we still walked away with a box packed with leftovers. This is truly a feat because my husband can really pack it away, the portions were just massive. I don't think I will ever be able to get barbeque anywhere else again, this is too good. Will be back multiple...
Read moreMe and my family eat here Sunday and was very disappointed.. we arrived at 2pm they close at 3pm we figured plenty of time to eat from the buffet… well we wait 30 minutes to get seated at a table that was open for 30 minutes… no big deal we ready to eat. My father goes to the buffet and noticed there wasn’t much of anything left up there so he asked The Who we guess was the cook if they would be putting more out? He told my father no because we close at 3pm so my father said I have a big family to feed and they sat us down at 2:30pm and the cook said well they will be disappointed with the buffet… well we tried to eat what was left witch was fish and bbq and chicken. My first piece of chicken was bloody and raw so I pushed it to the side and ate the fish.. my mothers chicken was raw so she ate bbq. I went back and I guess the cook decided to put fresh chicken out after being rude.. got the chicken went to the table pulled it apart and it was RAW! So I was very upset and me and my mother decided to talk with the manager.. after waiting 30 minutes to talk with some one the manager comes out and tells us that the chicken on the buffet was cooked all the way so I show her my chicken and they decided to knock off one buffet per ticket… we really didn’t eat anything to amount to be worth paying for but I was so ready to leave we just paid and left…
My recommendation for anyone that eats here just to be careful because uncooked food can make you very...
Read moreI will never eat at Hudson Smokehouse BBQ in Lexington, SC again after the experience my family had. Two days after my wife’s surgery, I went in with my daughter to order takeout. I was told to place my order at the bar, which already felt uncomfortable since I had my child with me.
When I ordered, the bartender’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. After I gave her my order, she shoved the tray with the receipt toward me and walked away before I could hand her my debit card. When she came back, she tossed the tray with my card and receipt at me and walked off again—no acknowledgment, no courtesy.
I called her back and told her that her behavior was unacceptable. Instead of apologizing, she denied it and brushed it off with, “I didn’t toss anything at you—it’s all good.” When I initially spoke to the on-duty manager, she was equally dismissive, nodding and saying “okay” without any concern.
Later, when we called back to speak with another manager, he was slightly more apologetic but still made excuses, saying the restaurant was busy and that sometimes the staff “isn’t at the top of their game.” That may be true, but it doesn’t excuse blatant disrespect toward customers.
If this is how Hudson Smokehouse chooses to handle poor service, it speaks volumes about their leadership and training. Respect should be a standard, not a courtesy—and they clearly...
