I cannot say enough good things about Parlor Doughnuts. I heard that there was a new doughnut place in Lexington so I decided to make a point of trying it out. I went in and asked the lady at the counter if they had Cronuts. She informed that all of their doughnuts were Cronuts. She is a very sweet lady and wonderfully helpful. She was very aware of my peanut allergy and willing to accommodate it. I bought a mixed dozen and tried them with friends and family. Everyone was impressed beyond words with the flaky wonderful creations. My favorite is the Churro flavor. I didn't write this review until I had a chance to go a second time a week later because anyone can be good once, but extraordinary consistency is hard to achieve. This time I got Cronuts and a sausage biscuit. I cannot describe to you the experience that I was not ready for. When I tell you that this was THE BEST SAUSAGE BISCUIT that I have ever had in my entire life I don't mean by a little. I mean that this is the sausage biscuit that all others will be judged by from now on. I don't even know how to describe it. The biscuit was dense and flakey and a little crisp like a croissant, the taste and texture are spectacular by themselves, but together they are marvelous! Then the sausage was like none that I have ever tasted. It was so wonderful. This sausage biscuit had the nerve to taste like unconditional love. I cannot give high enough recommendation for Parlor Doughnuts. The second time that I was there the kind lady up front remembered me. She is either the manager or the owner or both. She reads the comments on Facebook and answers customer's questions. This is the kind of behavior that cultivates customer loyalty. She is legitimately a kind caring business person. When I give bad reviews I get owners replying offering to make sure that things will be right in the future, but that isn't how things should be. This is how you run a business to not have to do that. When you get it this right to begin with you don't have to worry about reviews. Do yourself a favor and make your way down Euclid Avenue to visit Parlor Doughnuts. You...
Read moreOn weekends, this donut shop is a delicious madhouse.
The business just opened in February 2022 and it seems like everyone within a 5 mile radius with a craving for a donut knows, that's including the University of Kentucky's 30K+ student body.
Indeed, the line was almost out the door. Had to wait thirty minutes to try a Parlor Doughnut, but it was well worth the wait.
And you don’t have to take my word for it. Just one look at the line of nearly thirty mouth watering googly eyed customers staring at the donut display case, eager to try these croissant-doughnuts (a.k.a cronuts) will give you a hint at what’s in store.
Their approach to this small fried cake of sweentened dough is unique and oh so delicious.
I tried the Honey Glazed layered cronut for $2.95 and was upset I didn't order two.
If you like donuts, you will like the croissant-like airy donuts this parlor offers.
Purely magnifique.
Honey Glazed, French Toast, Maple Bacon, Rasberry Pistachio, Strawberry Shortcake, and Chocolate Chocolate are just six of the 20 creative flavors available.
